Whats good myspace? Its ya boy Devo a.k.a D-Layso reppin Bushwick Brooklyn to the fullest! I'm on here looking for music industry connects because I got that fire both spitting and making beats. For the ladies I love yall so dont hesitate to holla at a BK bigboy ya heard.....
I'm a hip-hop producer/rapper from Brooklyn, New York. I'm unsigned but for the 07 I'm pushing it to the limit. I've been rhyming since the age of nine but I really started to take rap seriously around the age of 15/16. I cant even count the amount of songs or verses I wrote in my life time. I've recorded lots of music with such artists as Rocky and P.E. ( my PNC's) and Redz, H.A.V.E( kriminal Kolony), Uni Bomber, Staph, Precise, Hemp Squad, Cyn Roc and C Burn ( both of the Smugglaz my old group from like 99 but we supposed to link something up for 2008 holla!)
My rap style is very versatile but im sure everyone says that about themselves nowadays so you just have to hear it for yourself. I'm known to have a laid back type flow mixed with the hard lryics. I'm not one of those metaphor rappers but when I feel like it I can get down with the best of them because that is the type of rapper I started out as. I feel that as I've grown older I learned how to mix both the metaphor/battle rap with a concept and make tight songs. Right now i'm in the lab with my dawg Rocko who also does our production and we just finished "Rockabye Baby" the album. We are also putting together P.E. And Uni Bombers albums and working on a mixtape (title to be announced). You can check us on Ruff Rugged and Raw vol.4 dvd from Scavengers Entertainment, and on the mixtape for vol.5 which currently is sold with the vol.5 dvd.
When it comes to my production, you gotta hear it. My style is like no other and whether im sampling or composing a midi beat, you get a taste of my authentic swagger. My weapons of destruction are the mpc 2000xl( my Baby) a yamaha PSR 340 ( for midi control) an alesis s4 and roland d-110 ( for my sounds). I used to record my vocals to the Tascam 788 but both of the ones I was using blew out ( wierd right?). Now I record to pro- tools which is much better. I love it and I get to use it at Rockos Digital Gorilla Studio where the sound is crazy professional.
Well thats enough about me for now. To sum it up i'm on the grind looking to get beat placements with indie or major labels...as long as you got that paper I negotiate. As of january 2008 Rockabye Baby the album is officially done/pressed up and will be for sale so check for it. Also check out www.beattraffickers.com where you will hear some of the illest producers and rappers get it in!
