Life changes. The very essesnce of life is change. You can't take anything you have here with you. At death, no matter how strong you are you, you are at the mercy of what happens next, none of the power you had, wealth or possessions can go with you, so don't worry too much about them.
Happiness can be obtained by showing compassion to everyone you meet, even those who cut you so deep you can't even cry out it hurts so bad. Attachment is something to be overcome. Its a cliche, but we are all one. Mother, farther, brother, sister, friend, foe and stranger alike. Even on an everyday level we all experience the same things and live the same life on the same planet in the same universe, regardless of how much we try to alter it and our perception of it.
I once believed in love. I now know that love to me is what happens when attachment takes the place of lust.
Happiness and fulfilment can only come from compassion. And that cannot be focussed on one individual only. For it would be cruel for me to deny compassion even to a stranger and focus it on just one person.
When you think of the possible billions of people who need your help, or perhaps limitless people in the universe, the needs of one seem wrong, undoubtidly almost perversly wrong. We are part of something all off us, there can be no denying that, be it spiritual or physical it means something.
I have now made it my goal to be able to always be able to cope with change and therefore become happy as a result.
