Chinue'

Chinue'(pronounced Cheen-way),was born December 23, 19?? at Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. The family spent her early years living in Concourse Village, just five minutes away from Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. After the divorce, Chinue's mother left New York where she was born and raised, to head for the sunshine state to raise her two daughters. Chinue's "gift of gab" landed her a job in 1992 as host of "Teen Talk" on Cable Channel 25 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was offered a positon with the morning team on WHJX Hot 101.5FM, subsequent to high school graduation in 1993. Overwhelmed by the demands of a fulltime job as well as adjusting to her freshman year in college, she briefly tabled her radio career to persue her education. In spite of her efforts she was once again bitten by the "radio bug" and afforded an opportunity for a potentially promising career with WJBT 92.7 The BeatFM. In May of 1996, Chinue' became the local morning host for"The Tom Joyner Morning Show" on the Beat's sister station V101.5FM. Shortly after joining V101.5 she was asked to return to WJBT 92.7 The Beat to co-host "Paco& The Wake-Up Posse." Chinue' was also featured as an entertainment reporter for the syndicated radio show "Street Jamz." UPN Channel 47 called upon her talents to become their entertainment reporter for their nightly newscast. During an audtion, WJWB Channel 17 selected her to host "Weekend Movie Showplace." The career Chinue' once dreamt about began to flourish in March 1998, when she became the first woman to host "The Flava Unit Morning Show" for WJBT 92.7 The Beat FM. In November of 1998, she was blessed with the opportunity to voice-track nights for WTKT The Beat in Lexington, Kentucky. Chinue' was thrilled to be in two different radio markets having a show in the morning and at night. During that same year she performed as local host for the United Negro College Telethon. She continued to make her mark in television by hosting events, guest appearances, and starring in several television commercials until May 2000 when she tied the knot. Chinue spent the next several years traveling in support of her then husband who was a professional athlete. In December of 2003, she accepted a position as marketing/promotions director and voice/diction instructor for John Robert Powers of Jacksonille.
