Being a key person in Norwegian improvised music since the late nineties, guitar player Ketil Gutvik decided to go solo for the first time in 2005.
His solo works combines the energy and spirit of free jazz with the sounds from european improvised music. Ketil's inspiration in improvised guitar are Derek Bailey, Jim Hall, Jimi Hendrix, Otomo Yoshihide, David Stackenäs, Marc Ducret, Marc Ribot, John Abercrombie, to mention some. He is also a dedicated jazz fan with a certain love for Sonny Rollins' recordings from the fifthies.
His other present and past groups and projects include musicians like Eivind Opsvik, Paal Nilssen-Love, Håkon Kornstad, Paolo Vinaccia, Klaus Ellerhusen Holm, Johan Berthling, Kjetil Møster, to mention some.
