Writing, exploitation movies, comics/graphic novels, old- school professional wrestling;(1960s-1980s), , weird pop culture in general.
An eclectic mix; Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, Ween, Motorhead, Buck Owens, Rob Zombie, Rammstein, Wolfmother, Southern Culture on the Skids,Led Zeppelin, Elvis Presley, The Statler Brothers, The Who, David Bowie, Alice Cooper, Ween, The Donnas,Roger Alan Wade, Liz Phair, AC/DC, The Animals, Jet, Black Sabbath, Reverend Horton Heat, Gordon Lightfoot, The White Stripes,...its hard to tell what I'll be into next.
Again, an eclectic mix. Currently I'm on a big "exploitation/grindhouse" movie jag; low-budget fare circa 1950s-1970's produced for the drive-in/cheap theater circuit, as well as old favorites and new weird stuff.
Not one to just sit in front of the tube out a Pavlov's dog-like habit, I do have certain shows I make time for; Lost,The Sopranos,The Shield, plus old favorites from yesteryear like Emergency!, Adam 12, Miami Vice, Night Gallery, The Twilight Zone, Kolchak The Night Stalker, Ironside, Kojak,SWAT...just about anything I remember from the 1970's that I find free on-line
As far as book-books;James Ellroy, Mickey Spillane,Cormac McCarthy,Andrew Vachss, Steven King, Joe Lansdale, among others. In the world of comics/graphic novels, I tend to be drawn more to creators than to titles/character/genre. Usually cannot go wrong with anything by Frank Miller, Will Eisner, Jack Kirby, Alan Moore, Warren Ellis, Joe Kubert, Jordi Bernet, Paul Grist, Phil Hester, Paul Tobin, Colleen Coover, Ande Parks....this could go on for awhile.
