I can't help that my heartbeat is a metronome

About Me

BIO :Limelight began developing his craft at 11 when he bought his first record, Special Ed’s “Youngest In Charge,” at the behest of his father who had warned him to “stop scratching up” his beloved collection of classic Soul and R&B 45 and 12” records. After recklessly scratching and manipulating his prized possession until it was no longer playable on his Realistic belt-drive turntable, he began collecting records from local record stores, long before the advent of digital downloads and MP3 players. His life was forever changed when, for his 14th birthday, his mother bought him a pair of belt-drive Gemini turntables. While most teens were practicing for their driver’s-ed test, DJ Limelight spent countless days honing his craft, trying to recreate what he heard on DJ mixtapes from around the country, by playing to under-21 parties and crowds of more than 1,400 at large events --- before he was of age. In 1995, a chance meeting with Indianapolis-based party rocker and mentor, DJ Kenny Kixx turned Limelight’s flirting fixation with deejaying into a full-blown obsession.DJ Limelight’s ability to fuse different genres of music combined with his highly-refined mixing ability, has made him one of the Midwest’s most sought after party deejays. Performing at more than 200 shows per year, he seamlessly fuses Soul, Funk, Hip-Hop, Pop, R&B, Reggae, House, Neo-Soul, Rock and Classics into a cornucopia causing non-stop body-rock.Limelight’s sophisticated foolishness translates into a calculated recklessness that keeps partygoers on their toes, unaware of what’s to come. He possesses the rare ability to blend assorted musical influences into an undeniable party experience, wowing crowds with his genre-bending mash-ups and relentless party-rocking style.A true pied-piper of the game, Limelight’s distinctive sound has commanded a loyal fan following just as diverse as his music. His audiences span socioeconomic, race, class and gender barriers as multi-cultural enthusiasts waive social prejudices and jam-pack the dance floor night-after-night.With his flair for the ordinary-turned-extraordinary, Limelight’s reputation for his unique sound has garnered him residencies at two of Indianapolis’ chicest hot spots, an impressive corporate client list, as well as an array of varied weekly special appearances.DJ Limelight’s talent and passion for his craft has afforded him the respect and admiration nationwide. He boasts guest appearances at events around the country from Chicago to Las Vegas. On-lookers often wonder how a mid-market DJ commands the attention of national brands like Belvedere Vodka, Sean John Clothing, Red Bull USA, and the nation’s hottest clubs such as the Rum Jungle in Las Vegas; but when they experience the truly musical magnetism of DJ Limelight, the rest, as they say, is history.
