About Me

Fingers and Toes done embraced the change. They can get groovy with tribal chanting, barbershop, new acoustic folk ballads, screaming, electronic manipulation, rock and roll, experimental noise...drawing from world folk, garage rock, and free jazz.
Fingers and Toes began in April of 2006 when Leaf Bird and Niobo started recording and improvising at the Pat 'n Dale a few nights a week. Eventually friends Lily Parker, Dev Brown, Joel Masters, and Quandace joined in the merriment. Songs were born, shows were booked. As a six-piece, Fingers and Toes recorded their "Name" EP and toured in June of 2006. Upon returning to Chicago, they honed their songwriting and became a four piece, releasing their "Sacred Hamburger" EP in March of 2007. As of July of 2007, Fingers and Toes are a two-piece.
We recorded at Chicago's Shape Shoppe and Electrical Audio in late 2007. The results will be in come spring of oh eight.
In the meantime, Leaf Bird and Niobo have created a compendium of music that spans the various ages of the band, from tour cd's, random home-studio recordings, etc. We're packaging them in hand-sewed cloth cases. Yay! send us a message if you'd like one.
