As you can see in my pictures, I used to be very involved in Cosplay and still make the occasional costume, but my interests have changed in the last year or so, and my life has taken a new direction...

About Michi Kaioh:
I have been sewing for myself for nearly 16 years (almost half my life). It all began when my mother told me I was too old to dress up for Halloween (my favorite holiday). I designed and created my first costume then, knowing practically nothing about sewing.
In 1998 I attended my first Japanese Animation convention and decided to dress as one of my favorite characters - Sailor Neptune from Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon S. I was encouraged by some new friends to enter the costume competition and won my first award. Since then, I was hooked. I've been competing ever since, reaching Master level in 2002.
In 2000 I started my own costming and clothing business. The name has changed over the years, finally becoming "FlowerBite Designs" in 2006.
I attended the International Academy of Design and Technology in Tampa, FL in 2004 and decided after 6 months that it wasn't the place for me - I already knew and was far advanced from what they were trying to teach me. So, I continued to train myself. I've been learning through trial and error ever since, continuing to build my portfolio.
I am a perfectionist. Unless I'm completely happy with something, I won't let it leave my hands.
I love creating clothing for bands - coming up with concepts and collaborating with the musicians on the style, look and theme of everyone is one of my biggest thrills. I still make SciFi, Animation and re-creation costumes, PLUS clothing for Super Dollfie (Asian Ball-Jointed Dolls) as well as props, accessories and making & styling wigs for both dolls and humans alike.
