About Me

Kosmos is not your average dj. With a solid background he is one of the top Spanish djs and his activity behind the decks is hectic, constantly guesting at the best clubs and festivals around Spain and starting a promising international career that’s taken him to play important clubs and events in places like London, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Moscow, Stockholm, Buenos Aires, etc… An accomplished breakdancer in his early teens, an avid record collector and a punk kid at heart he’s always been an artist difficult to categorize, never following the stablished trends, just his own personal instinct. Raised on a healthy diet of old school hip hop, electro, synth pop, italo disco, punk, dub, ska, dancehall, rave or techno and boeing exponed to the acid house explosion in London, he’s forgued a unique atitude towards djing and music making. In fact, he was one of the pioneers of the Barcelona club culture and he’s still at the forefront of the cutting edge electronic scene thanks to his unique approach to dj and producing. At the decks his dj style is , technical and eclectic, going away from safe and boring formulas, trying to offer fresh sets. In that way, he plays two different kinds of set: on one side he’s well known for his tasty mix of real electronic house muzik, a headz down dancefloor assault full of dirty groves, bouncy basslines and tight beats. On the other side he’s also popular for his freestyle sets where everything’s possible. Coming from an old school hip hop, electro and Miami bass heritage he’s now concentrating in a delicious blend of crunk, bassline house, electro and nu rave, using lots of his own edits fresh from the studio. His dj residencies are Fellini (monthly), Boombox @ Apolo [2] (monthly), Tracy Recordings @ Fellini (bi-monthly), Crash @ Fellini (monthly) and Nasty Mondays @ Fellini (twice a month), all in Barcelona, also Loop in Tarragona (bimonthly) Blanc (Reus, Bimonthly) and Morrissey (Zaragoza, Bimonthly) Also you can catch him at a quality club near you soon, guesting and smashing the floor. His label Palace Recordings is one of the leading names in the new generation of labels coming from Barcelona and focused on quality electronic club sounds. It’s seventh releases to date include stuff from Jussi-Pekka, P.A.L., Infrasound, Mousedown or Majestic and they have in the pipeline a string of heavy releases including names like Abe Duque, Funk D-void, Glimpse, Jaunetic, etc…Also he’s working on his new label, do to start in april. Under the name Tracy Recordings and alongside Ginebra and Funkmasta, he’s gonna fuse punk aesthetics with nu sounds like crunk, electro, nu rave or bassline house. Stay tuned, more info soon Production wise he’s known to be part of Majestic, a project responsible for several undergroung hits, released through D.Press Industries and Palace Recordings, label that hes running alongside Sergio Castillo. He-s producing also alongside Funkmasta and Ginebra under The Lords Of Tracy moniker, creating heavy bass electro crunk stuff. They’re expected to release stuff on Tracy Recordings soon. He’s also a member of cult production outfit Vanguard, responsible for remixing the royalty of Spanish independent pop bands with his personal electronic sound. They have released the sought after 12 jet set / Ochenta, several tracks on compilations and are expected to release soon on his awaited and never released debut album. He’s released three CD mixes, Cosmos 2000: Kosmos vs Cosmos (Cosmos Records), Sea Zone (for the russian club of the same name) and Live @ Fellini (The Barcelona Megamix), a Cd for the respected club where he-s monthly resident and made entirely from material coming from labels made in Barcelona.
