About Me

I try not to take myself too seriously, as life is often pretty ridiculous, and what better way to exist than to laugh through it ? In conversation, one of my favorite things to do is pair unlikely words together, such as: "She is slightly fantastic". For some reason, this never fails to tickle me; and yes, I'm very aware that I'm a dork. My passions involve many things, but music (keys- I just started playing again after a long break from "encouraged" childhood and adolsecent piano lessons) and writing (or more accurately, my itch to scribble: poetry, non-fiction, lyrics for others to sing, as I can't carry a tune, and short stories) are the two strongest influences steering my life. I have an affinity for travel, music, thrill-seeking, extensive periods of leisure, and guys that are all wrong for me. If I had to choose a theme for my life, I'd borrow it from Oscar Wilde when he wrote: "I can resist everything except temptation", and though this sometimes gets me into trouble, most other times, it helps to inspire adventures, though I won't use it as a reckless excuse to hurt another person. This is not to say I am always irresponsible either; rather, I pride myself on an innate impulsive streak that has developed itself more and more over the past few years. Just to be safe, all new friends should note that when getting to know me, I come with a disclaimer warning: This toy is forever a work in progress, so play at your own risk! Overall, I tend to gravitate towards creative, insightful people who will happily dish back any of my banter, and gently put me in my place when (and if!) I deserve it.

Music, travel, surfing, snowboarding, writing, reading, dancing, movies, and hiking.

I never tire of meeting new people, especially if I can relate to them through struggle and/or inspiration.
