About Me

I have an amazing fiance...and I'm a journalism graduate from the University of Idaho. I'm just looking for other musicians/music fans to discuss things with...I'm also into politics, snowboarding, anything (non)religious.
If you want to hear my drumming, go to www.myspace.com/ishotxthem and listen to it. I recorded that with I Shot Them at some point in 2003.
A piece of my mind:
Politics have permanently taken over the national focus, money has become political power and the line between both corporate and political bodies is gone. We are social creatures. This is apparent in our survival. We go with what we know, who we know, who is familiar. It's the basic structure of society. Politicians want to win elections, but they need money. Corporations have money, and politicians have political and economic capital once in office. Politicians broker deals, bartering their personal beliefs and the good of the country for personal benefit. This free-market form of campaign funding is functional in theory, but this is assuming the corporations who control the politicians have the good of the country in mind. In fact, the question is not whether the corporations have the good in the country in mind at all; no, the question is whether that point should even matter. This country chose capitalism not as a form of political structure, but economic. Politically, America is the antithesis of capitalism. In our kind of representative democracy, great lengths are taken to protect minorities from mob rule, which is essentially the driving force behind capitalism. Like the mob, capitalism will form bosses, like Exxon, Merck, Time-Warner and News Corp. Like with the mob, these bosses will find covert ways to buy off authority in order to maintain their power over the market. Those who go along with it are rewarded within the system, those who go against it are crushed. The bosses control everything because they hold all of the true capital, sometimes warring with each other, sometimes joining forces to combine their markets, assets and economic power. The driving force behind capitalism is mob rule. The driving force behind America is equality at any condition. Let us not confuse these forces. We live in a country where we reward citizens for exploiting the system for personal benefit. This was not the plan.
