About Me

I'm BANE, founder member of the Don't Talk To Strangers collective/label, MC/producer/Writer and half of 'No Pretense' with Mury Poppinz. I'm heavily influenced by late 80's/early 90's underground Hip Hop from both sides of the Atlantic as well as a healthy dose of Soul, Funk, Dub, Blues, Jazz, Punk, Classical, Blah, Blah, Blah. I started writing rhymes when I first heard Killa Instinct back in the day and never stopped! I love dark, emotional, thoughtful music with a subject matter a little more diverse than just hip hop or geography, basically anything thats FRESH, has SOUL and captures the imagination. I'm currently working on an LP called 'Music & Mouthwords' with Mr Mury Poppinz featuring production from Eliphino, Katrah-Quey, Young Max (Dirty Diggers) and Me & Deadboy, Guest vox from Prince Po (!!!!), Chief Wigz, Proptic, Tah-Bo, Ruby Wood, Belinda Hards plus a few others i'll update on soon! The vinyl version will feature an additional limited edition green 7" with production from Asaviour, Dj IQ and Watson G and guest vox from Skeleton, Mr KFQ and Watson G....
