About Me

I led a normal life until one day in January 1977 when I switched on the french TV and discovered a man introduced as the greatest rock guitarist ever. A few months later my dad gave me the "Electric Ladyland" double LP for my 12th birthday. In 1990 everything became totally unbelievable when I decided to commemorate the 20th anniversary of my hero's death with a one-week festival in Paris called "Jimi's Back" (at the Olympia theatre see below, New Morning club, Max Linder cinema and Fnac record shops). My thanks first to Nona Hatay then Caesar Glebbeek, the New Morning club, Alan Douglas, the late Noel Redding, Randy California and Luther Allison (RIP all three), plus all the other artists, my partners Alex Calin and Luc Vertige also Jérôme Avilès and Willy (I borrowed some money from them !) and my mum of course!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I should admit I met quiet a few already !!!

Music:

The Voodoo Child and hundreds of very good and usual stuff like, er, well, I would say all the heroes that we all know anyway.

Television:

Thanks to my brother, I know "Dexter", "Day Break", "The Soprano", "Californication", "Entourage" and "Arrested Developpement", "Life", "The Wire", "Damage", "The Shield"...

Books:

Will you believe me if I say I read the Bill Clinton biography ?! It took me around 18 months ! I had a look on "Mystery Train" by rock critic Greil Marcus. I have read "I'm with the band" by groupie Pamela Des Barres, "Sweet Soul Music" + "Last Train To Memphis" by Peter Guralnick and "White Bicycles" by my pal Joe Boyd. Now I'm on the french cover of "Let It Blurt : The life And Times of Lester Bangs, America's Greatest Rock Critic - How To Be A Rock Critic, A Megatonic Journey With Lester Bangs" and also "Buchwald Go Home" by Art Buchwald.

Heroes:

JH and all those who made it !
