The newest addition to the Team BSN athlete roster, Ty Loomis began his volleyball career as a collegiate player for the men’s indoor volleyball team at the University of California, Irvine. Ty was a stand-out on the team, leading Irvine in kills over the course of the 1999 – 2000 season.
After completing his run at Irvine, Ty’s passion for the sport of volleyball drove him to harness his skills on the beach and over the course of the last few years he has become one of the most dominant professional volleyball players on the beach. 2007 saw Ty traveling the world on the pro beach volleyball circuit, competing against the best of the best. His hard work and determination paid off with a silver medal at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
An avid workout and diet enthusiast, Ty is proud to admit that for the past 2 ½ years, he has been consistently using BSN supplements. Ty commented, “I couldn’t be happier with my results in the gym, and on the beach!” Look for 2008 to be another banner year for Ty Loomis as he continues to grow as a professional athlete and embarks on his quest to take the throne as King of the Beach.

The pictures below were taken this winter at a photoshoot for my sponsor BSN. BSN hired 1 of the World's Best Fitness Photographers named Alex Ardenti, who shoots most of the covers for Men's Health Mag, Men's Fitness Mag, and much more.
The purpose of the shoot was to get some cool pics for my "Team BSN" Profile, which can be located at BSNonline.net. Also, these pics are going to be featured in some of BSN's ad and print campaign's promoting some of their amazing product line. Check out their website for more info!
AVP Miami Open April-2008
2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Hans Stolfus and me were honored to represent the AVP and USA for Beach Volleyball in the 2007 Pan American Games in rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
We were the 1st team in USA Beach Volleyball History to Medal in the Pan American Games. We made it to the Gold Medal Match where we played the number 1 team in the World of Emanuel Rego and Ricardo Santos from Brazil.
That was hands down the biggest match of our lives! Playing the number 1 team in the World that won the Gold Medal in the Athens Olympics in 2004, they have been the number 1 team for 6 years straight, we were playing them in their home country, home stadium, in front of 7,500 chanting, dancing, heckling, screaming fans all cheering for Brazil in the 2nd largest International Olympic Format Event. We played well, but we lost and won the Silver Medal.

Playing in the Puerto Rico Pro Indoor League
Last November I got a contract to play in Puerto Rico Indoor Volleyball League for the Corozal Plantaneros. I got to live in San Juan right on the beach, while playing for 1 of the best teams in Puerto Rico. It was awesome!
This video below is from a match that we played against the Carolina Gigantes in the quarterfinals of the playoffs. The quarter finals was a best 3 out of 5 matches, where each match was a best 3-5 games. Carolina was leading the series 2-0, when we decided to win the next 2 matches to tie the series at 2-2. The 5th and deciding match was in our home gym in Corozal, where our fans are absolutely awesome! This town absolutely loves volleyball!
Carolina beat us in the first game so they went up 1-0. We came back and won the next 3 games that were all super close, to win the series 3-2. That was 1 of the sickest sports memories of my life! I get the chills every time I watch this video! I am on the blue team running around with my white hair, also with 1 other American on the team, Dave McKenzie, the All-American Opposite from Long Beach State.
We won the match, we won the series, then all of our fans threw their $2 Coors Lights into the air (yes it didn't matter that we were playing indoors, beer went everywhere), the fans rushed the court, then we all pounded beers in the locker room with all of the fans, the owners and everyone! Haha..wow..what an epic series!
Beach Volleyball Trip to Australia in January of 2006
Hans Stolfus and me went on an Endless Summer Trip to Australia in January of 2006. We traveled up and down the coast from Brisbane, to Melbourne, to Surfers Paradise in the Gold Coast, to Sydney and played in 3 beach volleyball tournaments on the Vodafone Australian Beach Volleyball Tour.
From playing a lil beach volleyball, to driving a sick hatch back car while using the left hand on the stick instead of the right, to driving on the wrong side of the car and the road, to going around round-a-bouts like in European vacation (we kept going in circles..haha) instead of stop signs, hiking, playing with the crazy roos, surfing and drinking with the crazy Aussies, I truly had the best time of my life and I can't wait to go back in January of 2008 for another Endless Summer Trip to AUS! So Stoked..haha..we're gods in Australia..haha

Check out pictures from 1 of my latest trips to Nygard Cay Bahamas. Peter Nygard, the owner of the private island, invited us out for a week to play a lil beach volleyball. This was easily the most beautiful place that I have ever been in my life! It costs celebrities $40,000 a night to rent the island. Check it out at www.nygardcay.com.

Movies:

Adam Sandler, Dave Chapelle, Richard Prior, Ben Stiller, and Chris Tucker, and Napolean Dynamite are a staple of what is in my DVD Collection!

Television:

The AVP Cuervo Huntington Beach Open was held on Cinco de Mayo weekend. In respect for Cinco de Mayo weekend, AVP players Jenny Johnson Jordan, Aaron Boss and myself has a "GUAC OFF" seeing who could make the best Guacamole! Geeter "the Voice of the AVP" narrates the contest. Check it out!

This is cool video that I narrate from the AVP Charleston Open, which was held at the Family Circle Tennis Center. AVP athletes including Hans Stolfus, Mike Placek, Brad Keenan and myself hit the tennis courts in our off time.

This video is from the 2007 AVP Manhattan Beach Open. Hans Stolfus and I (white shorts) are playing against Chris Seifert and Jeff Carluchi (black shorts).

My Wonderful Family!

Myself, Hans Stolfus, Angie Akers and Jenn Snyder were absolutely honored to visit the US Army Troops at Camp Bondsteel in Kosovo in the summer of 2007. We held 2 awesome camps and exhibitions for the US Troops showcasing how to play beach volleyball. This was 1 of the most amazing and humbling experiences of our lives.

In August of 2008, we will be visiting the US Army Troops again on a 2 week trip to Kosovo and Iraq! That trip is going to a lil scary, I'm not going to lie, but every moment will definitely be worth it!

My new roommate is Sean Rosenthal aka "SuperMan". Check out his video bio below, as well as the infamous video titled "Vegas Line" starring Sean..

My roommate Wade Ichinose absolutely brought the thunder on some poor kids mellon in a Punahoe High School game in Hawaii. Check this out! haha
