Click Here to get a tiny myspace layout!/aThe theatre!!! I am such a theatre buff, esp musicals. My favourites include Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, My Fair Lady, Grease, Fiddler on the Roof (although I thought it was shit til I was in it) Miss Saigon, Jesus Christ Superstar and Evita.I also like straight theater, esp. Shakespeare and things with a melancholy gay undercurrent - Tennessee Williams and Tony Kushner are among my favourites. My other interests include PUBBAGE - can't believe I didn't drink before coming to Uni, now it's at least 4 nights a week. I like studying - I'm a big geek who enjoys writing essays. I also like reading, although I don't get much time now, and also watching old films in bed on a rainy day, and long country walks in the mother town.
The great Judy! (But she's dead. Oh well.) My soulmate. Tony Kushner. Jennifer Aniston. Kathryn Hyde's parents. Natalie Bassingthwaite.
Little bit of everything - I LOVE cheesy pop - Kylie, Madonna, Girls Aloud - you know, the greats. I also like classical, and of course show tunes - I have so many musical soundtracks!Easy listening ranks high on the list too - Sarah Brightman, Sarah McLachlan, and Nina Simone are all up there. The only things I don't like are rocky noise crap, and the other extreme, whiners - KT Tunstall, Katie Melua, et al.
Aaaaaghhh! Far too many. Favourites are:The Little Mermaid, Moulin Rouge, Titanic, Beauty and the Beast, My Fair Lady, Romeo + Juliet, Elizabeth, Cabaret, Angels in America, The Wizard of Oz, Return to Oz, Meet Me in St Louis, The Muppet Christmas Carol.I am actually quite a stereotype. How depressing.
TV - OK here's where I win my money back! As a child I didn't have many friends, bar TV. So I watched A LOT. Favourite TV shows are, including childhood ones: The Simpsons, Desperate Housewives, Will and Grace, Friends, Buffy, Angel, The Animals of Farthing Wood, The Vicar of Dibley, Thomas the Tank Engine, Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds of a Feather, EastEnders (although it's not very good now). However, one show trounces them all - NEIGHBOURS! Hands down, best programme known to man. My life would be incomplete without it.
I like period books - Dickens, the Brontes, et al. Although English Lit has sapped my love for some of these texts, Jane Eyre is still my favourite book ever.I also love contemporary novels with heart and intelligence - my favourite author is Patrick Gale; he is so insightful about the human condition; the mind and the insecurities and flaws of people. Another favourite is Maya Angelou - that woman is a testament to human dignity, and the six volumes are of her autobiography are a profound inspiration.I used to like Harry Potter, but in retrospect, the language is simple and the pacing bad.
Eva Peron - such a mix of vulnerability and power. My Mum - my constant support and inspiration. Sara Yohannes, who is there for me no matter what.
