Jonny Williams (DJ/Producer) has "Worked It To The Bone" for donkeys years... As former Head of A&R at Kickin Records & Slip n Slide he brought in huge hits from Kid Massive "It'll Be Alright" The Young Punx awesome remix of DeLacy's "Hideaway" and Harry "Choo Choo" Romero "What Happened?" which reached No.1 ................................ Jonny signed hot UK Producer Chris Lake to BMG Music Publishing administered Haripa .... Chris's single "Changes" released on Apollo Records was Pete Tongs Essential New Tune on BBC radio 1 show last year and reached the Top 30 UK charts. He also signed to BMG Music Publishing administered Haripa, hot duo Rhythm Code whose latest single "Rise Up" featuring Simone Denny is tearing up clubland!...............................................yeah , and so what.........big buzz........................................ Jonny was previously A&R Manager at BMG's NuLife Recordings working alongside BBC Radio 1 DJ Dave Pearce responsible for signing artists Joshua Ryan, Love Inc. Dirt Devils, "Angel" Jam & Spoon, Sound De-zign, Warp Brothers, Kira... and Ian Van Dahl whose first three singles went gold, selling in excess of 500,000 (half a million units!) not to mention their album Ace the highest selling dance album of 2002...He's never been able to live it down!! ...............................................yeah and so what................................................. Jonny was responsible for choosing and instigating the licensing and launch of the first 200 titles in the S12 DJ Dance Classics collection for Simply Vinyl and then became Head of A&R for the Simply Recordings label bringing many forgotten classics back to life for DJ's and clubbers alike in the form of the S12 series................................yeah, and so what.................................................... In his previous role as Head of A&R at Sound & Media (Virgin) he released many dance compilations mixed by high profile DJs including Judge Jules, Graham Gold, Ramp (Slacker) Paul Trouble" Anderson, DJ SS, Pressure Drop, Colin Faver and Tsuyoshi Suzuki...........................................yeah, and............................................After establishing himself as a DJ in the UK, he was A&R Manager for Phonogram (Club Records) where he remixed the seminal Acid Classic " Sharp As A Knife" feat. Roxanne Shante by Brandon Cooke alongside Danny from Soul Mekanik, Remixed Kool & The Gang's "Celebration" giving it that distinctive twisted acid bassline. He A&R'd and promoted at 4th & Broadway/Island Records working with Nellie Hooper of The Wild Bunch, Sly & Robbie, Steinski & Eric B & Rakim.. DJ'ing too at the beginning of the Chicago Acid House Explosion, Thanks to Larry Sherman, Rocky Jones, Adonis, Jamie Principle, Rachel, Lewis..all friends ha ha..Jonny A&R'd alongside the man like Mr. Mastercuts legend Ian Dewhirst... Was A&R Manager at Jive/Zomba Records, working with Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince (Will Smith still has Jonny's James Brown cut-ups which he borrowed!!). He began his International DJ career with a residency at Zero nightclub in Dallas, U.S.A, ( supporting The Happy Mondays and the Stereo MCs on their U.S. Tour). He has toured Japan working with Satoshi Tomiie from Def Mix Productions New York and Underground Nagoya, Globe, Tokyo....................................................... ..................yeah, and................................................ He ran the legendary Wall St. club in Mayfair, London, in the 90's DJing alongside Judge Jules and with his own Thursday club Dilly Dally with guests Trevor Fung, Steve Procter and Danieli Davoli. (Black Box) Hammering tons of future hit Italian house records way before most....shit, even Joe T Vanelli used to pop by and hand deliver hot new white labels which Jonny played and the Chelsea Girls used to shake their Vivienne Westwood clad bottoms to all night long..!! yeah, and........................................ Jonny is currently DJing internationally playing recently at The Garage & Byblos club in the heart of Moscow spinning hot 21st Century electro and deep house grooves regularly throughout Eastern Europe and various clubs throughout the former Soviet Union where the house scene is truly flourishing.
