Stray Borders

Hooray for delay pedals!

About Me

Since 2001 this group of friends have shared many a musical and or social experience together, bumping into the odd mile stone on the way. The Cardiff based four awoke in 2006 as Stray Borders and over the last six months have; appeared on Cardiff Compliation "This Town Ain't Big Enough For The 22 Of Us", been voted demo of the week by Organ magazine, enjoyed air play on BBC Radio One, BBC Radio Wales, and other radio stations. Stumbled across their name in local and national press a handful of times, played shows in and out of Cardiff, met a lot of lovely people and did some funny dancing after shows with their friends.
Currently the gang are writing and making plans to record - exciting!
Stray Borders tracks can be also be downloaded from http://www.archive.org/details/LostChildren019. 'I don't mind waiting' is currently available on a pistol digital compilation called 'fresh weird and wonderful' available in various stores and via itunes...which got to number 8 in the alternative download charts
This line up has played with bands such as: Hope of the States, The Delays, 65daysofstatic, Future of the Left, Meet Me in St Louis, Los Campesinos!, Vessels and Errors

Sounds Like: "Demo Of The Week" - Organ Magazine"On the whole this is an accomplished Demo that sets the Borders up as local pioneers of the post rock sound" - God Is In The TV"This is gorgeous" BETHAN ELFYN/BBC Radio"Current essential new Welsh tunes include a demo by Stray Borders which could give Mogwai a run for their money" HUW STEVENS/Radio 1/Western Mail"This gang recall the best elements of Godspeed, Slint and the Liars whilst maintaining an individual and intelligent sound." JAMES HANNAM/HonkMagazine"Having seen this 'fresh-faced" cardiff quartet tote their dynamic post-rock a couple of times live, it's nice to report that these three tracks do the biz in a Mogwai/Slint/Shipping News fashion." NOEL GARDNER/Buzz Magazine"Purveyors of slow-burning, mathematically precise alt-rock experiments that strongly recall the shrill distortion barrages of Sonic Youth...and we await further news from their dark camp with bated breath." BBC EXPOSURE"forget that crap ... the musics what matters...that was excellent, excellent" ADAM WALTON/BBC Radio Wales
