I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm 57 and disabled. I'm not real sure how disabled, since I'm quite sure I'm not useless. I'm not as strong as I used to be, but strangely enough I still have no fear or intimidation of any other man. I worked in insurance for over 20 years, 12 as the manager, and before that I was a sailor on a nuclear submarine. I had 4 kids, two were inherited when I got married, and two more that are way too much like me. One of my inherited kids has since passed away. I like to read and I am currently on a journey through the Civil War via Shelby Foote. I play golf when I can, and I love to fish. I am generally handy and firmly believe that if I can find a book to tell me how to do something, then I can do it. I believe in God and generally call myself an Episcopalian. I have been married to the same woman for the last 30 years, and it looks like we're stuck with each other. I'm a happy person, grateful for what I have, but generally not requiring a lot. Watching my trees grow and my flowers bloom is what I call relaxation. The only thing that makes that experience more enjoyable is to have my dog Dixie near by. I like good cigars, Arturo Fuente 8-5-8 maduro as a matter of fact. I wear a hat like Indiana Jones wears and I have been frequently referred to as the "hat man". I kill time doing SuDoKu and watching the history channel. I like to cook for my wife, but she doesn't always like it. I'm very easy going, almost never pretentious, and I like everybody I meet.

My Interests

Fishing, golf, history, reading, cigars, SuDoKu, and my computer. I think I've been cornered into maybe writing a book. I love sea stories and talking about the Navy. Lately I'm very interested in politics. Not politicians, but politics.
