The history of Dirty-Money...
DM all started about 3 years ago when the founding members, all from West Hill School (Stalybridge) decided to start a band instead of spending there days sucking up the the gays in their school.. This was followed by a long period of line up changes, rock and roll walkouts and just about anything else you can imagine. Eventually though the band found the line up they were happy with, and continue via rimming, song writing and gigging, searching for the perfect sound.
DM are just a bunch of cool guys! They try hard to write about real issues and feelings, whilst at the same time remembering that their roots are the most important thing.... Their wide range of influences mean that they aren't limited to a particular genre or style, but create an exciting mix of; music, passion and attitude in every song they write.
So why not get on the DM band wagon and enjoy our music... We'd love to have you! Leave us a comment or a message, BE SURE to check out the songs and let us know what you think. We regularly gig around the manchester area, so check out our gig listings and come along... it's one hell of a dirty party! Dirty demo cd's are available on request and are priced very reasonably at £2 along with some pictures of our band!
Late rooms review by MEG! (24th March)
Next on Saturday's agenda was The Late Room, again arriving just tardy enough to catch the final couple of songs from another fresh-faced young outfit. This time, however, they were awesome, and I have never before seen such masterful rock posturing from a band so young. Dirty Money pulled out all the stops: Soloing on knees? Check. The rock scowl and pout combo? Check. Neck of guitar up by face? Check. Long hair a-moshing? But of course! The tunes weren't bad either, as they took their cues from Wolfmother in the modern classic rock school of Led Zeppelin and AC/DC, and carried off some taxing guitar solos with aplomb. Whatever your musical bag though, any regular gig-goer should love to watch a band with such unbridled energy and enthusiasm. Keep swinging those mics guys; you rawk.
Thanks to Liam Walsh for taking some top quality photos of the band, be sure to check him out at:
