The Heat Revue

Folkier than Rock, and Rockier than Folk

About Me

MyGen Profile Generator heat, n., - 'The transfer of energy from one body to another as a result of a difference in temperature or a change in phase.'
The Heat Revue was a development of everything that had been going on with our lives. "Things" are in perpetual change, and at the same time as trying to keep up with it, we're keeping some of the bare elements that make us enjoy making music. We're happy in our bubble.
revue, n., - 'A musical show consisting of skits, songs, and dances, often satirizing current events, trends, and personalities'
We're not going to tell you how to think, just let you know how we do. 'Simple Song' is our soundtrack to the downfall of the most unpopular reigime in history. Love, war, ideals, cliches, it's all part of the Revue. And Graeme occassionally dances.
Alistair Fell - "Hello, my name's Mr Smout". The man at the front, Johnny Cash lookalike/soundalike/actalike/dressalike/writealike. And that was before Walk The Line. The pub taught him all his writing and performing abilities. From old style folk to americana to heavy metal and back again, he's had his finger in almost every pie, musical and otherwise. We like him, we hope you do too.
Michael Fell - He used to play the saxophone. Then he stopped. The never ending twiddle of the young hobbit in the background makes us all smile, particularly when he forgets which song he is playing. Numerous others have wanted him, we kept him. He doesn't have a choice, and we're grateful for it.
Graeme Plunkett - Undisputed bass-man of the area, master of the bass-face and general all-round good guy, Big G is our snuggly big lump of love. I lied and told him we were a jazz/blues band. He bought it, now we own him.
Lois Parker - Careful, she's small but she'll hit you. Loving hobbit sidekick to Michael, she likes the band a good deal more than any of the rest of us. Probably because she can play, and her tambourine looks like a little hobbit-sword.
Ewan Moses - Plays drums and isn't actually that bad. Can play in any key. Secretely wishes we were a Dylan cover band and enjoys nothing less than the creative process of songwriting with the whole Revue. Is not a Jew.
Peace, you bastards. The Heat Revue x

So long, thanks for all the fish

Well well the end of the Heat Revue's summer is just about here, and that means that the end of the Heat Revue (for now, at least) is here also. It's been good, but it's been hectic. It's been drunken...
