Sounds Great Guys!!

About Me

I'm currently going back to school to finish that bachelor's degree I never attained since I was too busy taking electives and then got burned out for a while. My goal is to move on to law school with an emphasis on international law and then on to a career fighting for human rights in the world. My friends say this makes me more of a lesbian than a gay man, since I'm not going into law for money, but it's still gay, I promise, I get to travel for free, what could be more gay than that?!? And anyway, now that congress has passed the limit on undergraduate loans deal, I'm pretty much screwed, so I'll probably never finish.

I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !

My Interests

It might be easier to say what I'm not interested in, since I love everything and can find at least five minutes of interest in even the most boring pursuit, but overall I'd say I'm interested in living. I'll add more to this section later when I'm actually in the mood for listing things. For now, let's just say I'm not interested in republicans and religion, those two things make me puke a little in my mouth, so please don't bring them up with me.
Men See You As: An Attainable Challenge
You know how to make your man crave more of you But you also know when to show some interest back You're good at keeping your guy guessing And over time, you'll let him know how you really feel Are You a Challenge?

I'd like to meet:

Everybody of course, but all of us have those that are more special than others. For instance, Ewan McGregor and Sakis Rouvas. I would pretty much give up whatever I am doing in order to meet them. Other than that, I'm just here for the friends.

Music:

Yes please!!! I love music, all kinds of music, this is not a joke, I listen to everything, just try me! Here is just a sample, my favorite song of all time is Albinoni's "Adagio in g". My favorite girl group of all time (yes, I said girl group, I actually have a favorite one!) is The Andrews Sisters. My favorite concert band that I've seen would be The Pixies, Cake, Saul Williams, Chris Isaak, Gogol Bordello or Paul Simon, can't seem to make up my mind about that. I absolutely love anything by Weezer, Depeche Mode, CCR, Louis Prima(with or without Keely Smith), Mildred Bailey.......just to name a few. Italian operas always get me. Recent loves that play in my car are Lady Sovereign, Sakis Rouvas, Anna Vissi and Dresden Dolls.....and then there are some standards like The B-52s, The Violent Femmes and The Beastie Boys. How could I possible tell you everything that I love? I even kick it to Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs from time to time. OMG! I'm a freak about music!

Movies:

The Libertine; I love this movie! Not only is Johnny Depp really great, the dialogue and the costuming and the cinematography all blended well here to give you your money's worth. Of course, American critics hated it, since it involved what modern-day "moralists" would consider unnecessary lewdness and graphic violence, things the rest of us call fun, and, well, you have to actually PAY ATTENTION to the movie to follow it, GASP!Marie Antoinette: I really liked this movie. I'm not exactly a big Kirsten Dunst fan, but I might be after this one. The cinematography was so realistic it was amazing. I have no doubt that what I saw was exactly what I would see if I went to Versailles in person. Too often these historical movies try and gussy up their picture with all kinds of special lenses and make the actors speak like they are from another planet which detracts from seeing who the characters really are. Kudos to Sophia Coppola for directing a brilliant piece which shows the humanity behind a much maligned historical figure without making some judgement call about who was right or wrong in the matter. My favorite movie of all time is Harold and Maude. After that, in no particular order, just about anything with Nicholas Cage, especially Wild At Heart, everything with Ewan McGregor(yes, I've seen The Pillowbook and Down With Love and I liked them both), everything with Tim Curry(except that stupid made for tv version of that Stephen King book about the clown), Stella and most other Bette Midler movies, but that one in particular, Hello Dolly!, Until the End of the World(loved the soundtrack), Torch Song Trilogy, The Hotel New Hampshire, The World According to Garp, Dangerous Liaisons(the one with John Malkovich, Glenn Close, Michelle Pfeiffer and Uma Thurman), You I Love, Rennt Lola Rennt, The Scent of Green Papaya, every French film I've ever seen, every Vietnamese movie I've ever seen, ok, just foreign films in general and all the old classics with Doris Day and Cary Grant and Bette Davis and Katherine Hepburn.

Television:

Wow, what can I say? I own one, sure, but I don't use it so often. I guess, now that I have on demand HBO on the cable it makes it a little more useful, but there are only a handful of shows I actually like. I like most of the Reality Shows, though I don't cry if I miss them. Same goes for the few sitcoms I do like, for instance My Name Is Earl, Will & Grace(now off the air), Scrubs and I picked up a new one, Ugly Betty......that may be all of them that I currently like enough to mention.........then there are the few drama shows that I like, they usually take my favorites off the air in a season or two, but I do like The Medium and a recent convert to Gray's Anatomy.....South Park and Family Guy are great for cartoon shows....ummm.......I guess that's about it for tv for me, I'm usually reading or writing or listening to music or much much too busy doing anything else except watch tv.

Books:

Again, like music, impossible to name them all, here are a few of my favorite authors and books that changed my life anyway.....Sandra Cisneros "The House On Mango Street", Toni Morrison(all of her novels), Alice Walker(all of her novels and short stories and poems), J. D. Salinger "The Catcher In The Rye", William Shakespeare "King Lear", Marian Zimmer Bradley "The Firebrand" and "The Mists of Avalon", Ralph Ellison "The Invisible Man", Anne Rice(all of her novels with the exception of the Mummy books and the erotica), Rudolfo Anaya "Bless Me, Ultima", John Knowles "A Separate Peace" just to name a few, and special mention for affecting my childhood.......the first books I ever read were the Paddington Bear series, V. C. Andrews "The Flowers In The Attic" and "Heaven" series, Madeleine L'Engle "A Wrinkle In Time", Dr. Seuss "The Lorax", Anna L. Waldo "Sacajawea". I've been reading since I was 4, so please don't think this comes close to a comprehensive list at all.

Heroes:

Ok, here you go, sappy but true, my number one hero is a heroine, my mother. Ok, right, mama's boy, blah blah blah, but for real. How many women do you know who grew up in an orphanage like Little Orphan Annie then were separated from their twin brother and put in a foster home where they were molested and periodically stolen from them by their mother for the welfare money and left alone for weeks at a time with no money for food so they had to kill and roast pigeons over a fire and eventually overcame all of this in order to fall in love in highschool with dreams of becoming a physical therapist and have those dreams crushed by getting pregnant the second time they had sex with him and therefore were kicked out of highschool in their senior year (it was 1956, they did that then) and had to give up their religion (Lutheran) because the hipocrites said, "she must have been a slut" and the guy married then divorced them six weeks later and left them to raise a baby on their own then they met an alcoholic who beat them periodically but they married in order to have financial security for that baby and then, OMG, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT, they can still, after all of this crap, SMILE AND ENJOY LIFE! Jesus, most people hate life and they don't have anything worse than a spaghetti stain on their new shirt or a job that they don't like because it takes time out of their busy sleeping schedule.
