A few months after he was born his father left the scene, leaving his mother to be a single parent. When preschool age he attended Ephesus Christian Academy in New Orleans, La. Two years later he made his debut on the La. Childrens Choir Album, when he did the solo for the Our Father Prayer. Lots of people told his single struggling Parent Florence S. Marchand to get him in the Business. But being poor at the time she couldnt afford to put him in the business. Six months later his Mother who was a radio DJ at WYLD lost her job. So to find better work and also to get her children: Katina, George, and Jacob out of poverty. She moved to Huntsville, Al where she worked at the Local Radio, and TV station. Jacob now about 10 years Old started listing to Tupac, Biggie, Nas, Jay-z, Mace, Ray Charles, Mr. Bombastic, R.Kelly etc. His Mother who was a Poet inspired him to do the same at age 11. He began to do poetry with his mother at big events. Some friends of Jacob formed a Rap Group entitled GameFace Gangstas which was also known as GameFace Records. Group members Nee, S.B.C., and L.D.G. wanted to add Jacob to their crew. Nee put the young poet on a couple of tracks and helped start his career. GameFace Records, trying to get on the map they began performing everywhere. Concerts, Birthday Parties, School functions, city wide events etc. Then lil J., Jacobs stage name at the time, got a call from a big producer in Florida. Who heard his tracks and was willing to take a chance on the young rapper/poet. But wanted to start right away with lil Js project. But his mother who wanted her son to have a good education would not consent. So the Man disappeared never heard of or seen again. With disappointment and frustration lil J kept performing, and writing, waiting for another big break. At age 14 he began to desire recording his music so he could make money. But found out that studio time was very expensive. So he tried the next best thing, recording at the radio station where his mother worked. Determined to create his own style he used beats from all kinds of different musicians, including rap, r-n-b, rock, slow jam, techno, upbeat, etc. Recording 29 tracks he chose 16 tracks to be on his album. The album entitled Incognito, was a big success for the 14-yr. old rapper. One of the songs he did to be a remix of 50 cent, and Nass song who I rep with, and the song Good Advice which became a big success at his local school. Jacob who began to grow out of his Name, lil J, chose an original stage name from his birth name forming J.Reu (Jacob Reuben Marchand). Not Ja Rule, but J.Reu (Jay Rew). At age 15 he hated the way that his music sounded and invested a little bit of money to get the basics of a studio. And with this the GameFace crew took their music to the next level, recording a joint album that was also a great hit locally. Becoming familiar with the studio J.Reu started producing locally to gain respect and earn money to help out his struggling mother. Then he got back in the studio himself to record his second album at age 16. Producing all his tracks. His second album is entitled J.ReuSalem, He summed up the meaning by saying he has taken over, and is the teen king. Still looking for a big break he ran into Louie Rankin aka Ox from the movie Belly, with Nas and DMX. He heard about J.Reu through a friend and also word of mouth, and gave J.Reu a call about doing an album for his Dvd entitled for the fans only. He did 17 tracks and 12 promotions with him for his Dvd. But still there was no big break for J.Reu aka lil J. At age 17 he began putting together demos and sending them to different recording labels, and artist that would come to Huntsville, Al. for concerts. Putting his C.D. in the hands of superstars like T.I., Goodie Mob, B.G., Jazze Pha, David Banner, Ludacris, Lil Jon, Cash Money and several others, He expected a big phone call but never received any. J.Reu is now a freshman in college and plans to set off his career sometime in the near future. Hope you enjoy this demo Prepared, Produced, Written, and Arranged by J.Reu aka lil J.
