Gone to Mexico. Hope to be back soon. I miss you!

About Me

Background By Profile Mods
I'm a happy gal who lives in both North Carolina and south central Mexico...yes, I'm a bi-locator! I am a sucker for comedy, smart/funny/witty/creative men, and both good AND bad sci-fi. I played over forty different Disney characters at the Magic Kingdom and Epcot Center during an eight year stint--hence the moniker "killer grumpy". I WAS a killer Grumpy. Acquitted. I'm a girlie girl who likes make-up and high heels, and I can hike a mountain trail with the best of them. Or at least with the mediocre of them.I spend time and money helping the less fortunate. I will go to the hospital or funeral home with you and let you lean on me, but I sure hope that never happens.Someone once told me, "You eat like a truck driver!" and I was flattered. If I did exactly what I wanted to do, I would weigh 300 pounds, but who of us gets to do exactly what we want to do? I try to eat right and exercise, but despite my best efforts, there're just some days when a girl's gotta plow through a box of Oreos. And a gallon of cold milk. And a tube of Pringle's. And a carton of sour cream. And shrimp, lobster and scallops. And cheesy potatoes. And a platter of ribs. And thin crust cheese pizza. And Filet-o-Fish from McDonald's. And lasagna. And a big tub of garlicky hummus. And Breyer's Ice Cream. And a dozen Mallo Cups. Oh, and a small Diet Caffeine Free Coke. Wait. Those are all things I can't get here in Mexico, so never mind.

My Interests

Napping, nature, cats, cross-stitching, hanging out with friends, hiking, Pilates, exercise, vegging in front of the tv, positive thinking, self-improvement, checking into a resort hotel and enjoying the amenities, helping others, comedy, acting/singing/being on stage, learning Spanish, expanding my world view, traveling, staying up late, introspection, praying, story-telling. "Never let the truth stand in the way of a good story!"

I'd like to meet:

Funny/smart/witty/creative/positive/unselfish people, Best Brains (from MST3K), Carol Burnett, Bette Midler, Seth MacFarlane, Matt Groening, Christopher Guest, Harry Shearer, Michael McKean, Fred Willard, Gene Wilder, Rupert Graves, Jim Carrey, Jay Leno, William Shatner, Dick Van Dyke, Carl Reiner, Kathy Griffin, Bruce Campbell, Alan Rickman, Dolly Parton, Elizabeth Taylor, Phyllis Diller. It's fair to say that I am so in love with actor Alfred Molina that I can barely breathe when he's on screen.

Music:

I like Beethoven to Boston. Weird Al Yankovic, Backstreet Boys, Elton John, Molly Hatchet, mariachi music, Mozart, The Three Tenors, Andrea Bocelli, Judy Garland, Dean Martin, Christmas music, and soundtracks of musicals are all regular favorites. Don't like songs about cop killing, God hating, or women disrespecting.

Movies:

Citizen Kane, Sophie's Choice, The Best Years of Our Lives, The Shawshank Redemption, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Young Frankenstein, Saving Private Ryan, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Waiting for Guffman, A Mighty Wind, Best in Show, The Rose, For the Boys. My DVDs include collections of: Orson Welles movies, Jim Carrey movies, Christmas movies, musicals, animated, comedy, classics. I have all that are available in the following series: Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Back to the Future. I love musicals, especially those with big production numbers and singing that makes me say, "wow". And, whatever's showing on Turner Classic Movies.

Television:

Mystery Science Theater 3000 (eventhough it's off the air. I have over 75 episodes on DVD and/or VHS), King of the Hill, The Venture Brothers, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Star Trek, Little Britain, Looney Tunes, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Celebrity Fit Club, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, The Dick Van Dyke Show, TV Funhouse, MXC, The Man Show (I know, I know), Deadwood, Carnivale

Books:

The Greatest Generation; The Poisonwood Bible; The Pillars of the Earth; To Kill a Mockingbird; All Quiet on the Western Front; The Bible; The Grapes of Wrath; The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (though, I haven't read them all); Cold Mountain; Self Matters, by Dr. Phil; Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway, by Dr. Susan Jeffers (absolutely changed my life); just about anything by: Kurt Vonnegut, H.G. Wells, C.S. Lewis, John Steinbeck, David Sedaris. Anything written by my personal friends who are funny/awe-inspiring/heart-rending authors: Aprill, Barry, Charlie, and Jacumba. Also, I do love a good magazine about Science or "girl things".

Heroes:

My mother; Eleanor Roosevelt; Helen Keller; Dana Reeve; American armed forces personnel; missionaries and relief aid workers; every working class person who gets up every single day, loves and cares for their spouse and children and who goes to a job they don't particularly like. I salute you, Backbone of America!~~~~And here's a little something for all of you who love a dangerous redhead:
