My Interests

i dig dreams, cocooning, cocoons, and metamorphosis, hibernation, caves, bears, those who follow their own ideals and paths, dreamers, utilitarians, visionaries, community builders, alternative ways of living, coops, collectives, feminists, class issues, gender identities, gender blur, honesty, emotions, nature of emotions and their connection to the body, the nature of the universe, evolution is super interesting, whales, dolphins, oceans (from deep sea/secrets to wave-jumping on shore), the healing arts, all things health tend to greatly interest me, birds, dragons, flying dreams (raise yer hand if you have these), trees are mighty, the forest, animal nature, "making the nature scene", art and the creative process, alternate realities exist here, surreality, languages and linguistics, the world-views of other cultures both ancient and living, comedy, coping with losses and tradegy, change, social justice, many more...

I'd like to meet:

to keep in touch with friends or reconnect with old ones. plus radical nurses, truthtellers, storyspinners, musicalists, daydreamers and sleepdreamers, creative ones, inner beautifuls, buffy wannabes, crafty ones, and other amazing creatures.

Regina Spektor is my newest fav!, Scream Club still rules (and is currently on nationwide tour), Sonic Youth, Bjork, Cat Power, Bongwater, Curve, Laurie Anderson, Neko Case, Nirvana, Cyndi Lauper, David Bowie, Blur, Cibo Matto, Public Enemy, Disposable Heroes of Hip-hopcracy, Pat Benatar, the Flaming Lips, , Joan Jett, Peaches, PJ Harvey, Prince, L7, Loretta Lynn, Garmarna, Southern Culture on the Skids, psychobilly, B-52s, MC 900 foot jesus, Mogwai, The The, Morcheeba, Portishead, The Cure, Eminem, Wire, The Knotwells...are a few, plus I heart 80's Dance Music, and wall-of-sound guitar music, some punk, some metal, some country, some hip-hop, some ambient, some techno, show me some more.

Movies:

Some of my fav directors or film writers are Terry Gilliam, the Coen Brothers, David Cronenberg, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Todd Haynes, Jim Henson, Sam Mendes, and Charlie Kaufman. Not necessarily in this order…these are the movies I believe are brilliant, or could watch lovingly again, or have, or some I did during my childhood and so they are part of me: 1. my old favs are all off the air now but on dvd: wonder woman, moonlighting, xena, buffy the vampire slayer, freaks and geeks, strangers with candy, ab fab (BBC, funniest show ever), arrested development, neverwhere (neil gaiman did on BBC) and firefly (by joss whedon, which never made it on the air but is on dvd). now: Heroes and Lost

Books:

authors i love are Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean (especially the Sandman graphic novels), Ursula K. LeGuin, J.D. Salinger (especially "Teddy" in Nine Stories), Doris Lessing, Richard Bach, Lewis Carroll, Kurt Vonnegut, Adrienne Rich, George Orwell, many graphic novels and comic books, many poets...
