Born & raised in NYC, Queens has been holding it down for hip hop from the Run DMC era and has had a presence ever since. It's a certain swagger. QSR(Quasar) Cartel came up under the influence of Queens pioneers. Soon it became their calling in life to keep the tradition alive. Music was the adhesive element that linked neighborhood friends to form a collective. Some were in the streets, some worked, some went to school, some partied, most were players, some were homebodies and some did all of the above. The combination of the aforementioned lifesyles formed some interesting topics, hooks & punch lines. Their unique sound and spitting ability stood out and with ties to Onyx, Lost Boyz, Mobb Deep, 50 Cent, Rocwilder, DJ Enuff, Cipha Sounds, DJ Clue, Funk Master Flex, Big Kap, DJ Prostyle, DJ Nasty, DJ Khaled, 4th Disciple, DJ Remington Steele, Voice of Da Streetz, Bobby Trends and DJ Eluv just to name a few, their popularity spread through the undergrounds of the east coast, nationwide, the worldwide. When Hip-Hop started to become saturated by commercial america, "The Cartel" were involved in starting trends like: putting out their own mixtapes, doing other artist songs over on mixtapes and creating hooks to the melody of the music. Just as the west coast had an era in music, they decided to start promoting their music from the bottom up. So they decided to start promoting in Florida and back up I95. While in Orlando they created a major buzz with the help of the people they were in the streets with including the M3's, DJ Prostyle of Bet's 106 & Park, 102 Jamz, House of Steele, 95 live, Greg G, Tony C and too many people to mention on this page. If they know hip-hop in Orlando, then they heard of QSR cartel. They are responsible for many New Yorkers that moved or vacation in Orlando, Fl. and co-signed a mixtape era called "Voice of Da Streetz". They exposed the streets and the club scene in Orlando helping to dispel the myth that it was just for tourist! Watch out OTOWN is growing & it will become the next talent mecca when the talent unites. After having their music on DJ's mixtapes, QSR mixtapes, Hot 97, 102 Jamz rotation, in Europe & Central American radio stations, QSR Cartel is the best group not to receive commercial recognition. They have declined recording deals when the numbers didn't match & never sold their soul to corporate america. That is a hard thing to say about our artist today. QSR Cartel once said " We're trying to shut down labels instead of trying to get signed. Labels are raping artist with these recording deals. If anybody is going to make money of your music, then let it be you. Don't be afraid to come out of your own pocket. Start you own companies and let your legal team and manager's negotiate."
