When you pay your dues in a car wash, you learn that all people may be created equal, but skewed vision and class-consciousness knocks the legs out of some people. And in that sense of what people are made of rather than what their job is, the ironic songwriter puts his heart on his sleeve and demonstrates his sweetness without self-consciousness.In a world of pure pop for now people, Lance understands that hooks aren't all that matter -- but they're pretty damn important.
