In a childhood production of "Alice in Wonderland," actress Amy Kelly fell flat on her face. As the audience roared with laughter, she realized that she had a gift for physical comedy and thus, at the age of six, an acting career began.
Amy attended Cal Arts School of Theatre then transferred to San Francisco State University where she received her degree in Drama. While attending SFSU she wrote and directed "Poop" which was voted Players Club's best play of the year. "Poop" is about a group of people trapped in a cabin for eight days. Amy has played a range of characters on stage and in film but she is usually cast as a half-wit, a villain, a best friend and most recently the mad scientist in "BROADWAY & SURF."
Amy's film credits include "Hobbling Reese" directed by Alexander Lewis; "Sensibility Training" directed by Brad Gelson; "I'd Rather be Gone" and Raised By Drag Queens both films by director and writer Maria Breaux. While at Cal Arts, Amy met and worked with director Steve Balderson on "By the Light of the Moon" and the feature film PEP SQUAD.
Critic Jan Biles writes, "Equally as compelling is Amy Kelly as the polyester-and-bouffant Terra. Kelly, a natural on-screen talent, can swing from slapstick to drama in a flash. Think Lucille Ball and Bette Midler to get an inkling of the actress' style." Most recently she has appeared in FIRECRACKER with co-stars Karen Black, Mike Patton and Susan Traylor.
