Band Members: MIKE "CHICKEN HAWK" TOPPINS :Mike has been in Nashville since 1991...but music was introduced to Mike LONG before that. He started playing guitar at 3 years old and is considered by many to be one of the best "pickers" around. He's known for his "chicken chords" by his fellow musicians. He patterns his unique style after one of his idols, Chet Atkins. He has almost every imaginable instrument mastered, and after all these years...he ought to! The guitar, the banjo, the dobro, the steel, the drums, the mandolin and even the bass has never found a better friend than Mike.Beyond all his performing talents, he is also known as an accomplished producer and engineer. So many recruited him for production and engineering that he felt the need to start a business of his own. Hence, Chicken Trax was born.He has worked with many artists on the road as well as in the studio, some of those artists are Bill Anderson, Pam Tillis, Sammy Kershaw, Jon Randall, The Whites, The Osborne Brothers, Terry Eldredge and Danny Roberts of the The Grascals, Charley Pride, Jean Shepard, Little Jimmy Dickins, Jan Howard, Patty Page, Jim & Jesse, Mac Wiseman, David Parmley, Stonewall Jackson, Alan Frizell, David Frizell, Josh Graves, John Hartford, Kenny Baker, Glen Duncan, Stuart Duncan, Aubrie Haney And even…JERRY SPRINGER (for the movie song- Dr. Talk) JULIE HUFFMAN:Julie came to Nashville in early 2000 to pursue a singing career. She and Mike have known each other for life due to their families being close for many years. Once she got to Nashville, Julie and Mike started performing together as a duo. Then she began singing demo's for him as well as working for Gibson Guitars. She eventually left Gibson when they decided to go full speed ahead with the studio together. She now manages the studio business in addition to writing and performing.
