Carly Pearce

I'm told I started singing before I started talking! I was eight years old the first time I was on stage and I knew then that music was my life. At age eleven, I was asked to sing with a local bluegrass band. I started going to jam sessions and members of other bands would invite me as a guest to sing with their bands. I decided I wanted to play an instrument too so I got a guitar. I went anywhere and everywhere I was asked to perform. I was still a kid, but knew being a musician was what I was meant to do. I still play with these bands at festivals and other events. Last summer, I had an amazing opportunity to go out and sing with the Shenandoah band on their tour. It was a great experience and I am grateful for that opportunity. Those guys were great and I thank each and every one of them for believing in me. Bluegrass is where I'm meant to be. If you have been "bitten by the bluegrass bug" you know what I'm talking about! Turns out, a couple generations of my family were bluegrass singers and pickers as well. Guess it's in the blood! The song, "I'll Be Gone By Then" is my first songwriting attempt, along with my co-writing partner, my mom. We have many more in the works, so stay tuned! I recently got a mandolin and am having a lot of fun with that too. If it has strings, I want to play it. Since I'm only 16, I guess I have a little time!
