Music of Manvel Ter-Pogosyan

About Me

&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp The sounds of the people in the bazaar and the locomotion on the streets suddenly stopped as a faint thumping noise drew closer from the distance. This noisy pattern continued along with a joyous guitar melody. What was this strange music?
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Manvel Ter-Pogosyan was introduced to Trance music by ATBs famous track, 9PM (Till I Come). Born in Yerevan, Armenia, in 1987, Manvel was constantly exposed to music while growing up in a family appreciative of the arts. After immigrating to the United States in 1991, he continued to surround himself with beautiful music which led him to engage in music composition and production. In the years to come, passion and inspiration would take control as song after song was produced.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Manvel’s first major breakthrough came in 2005 when he signed an EP under the pseudonym “Amurai” with Empire State Recordings, run by prominent US-based duo, Filo & Peri. During the next two years, inspiration from various classical and modern composers such as Khachatur Avetisyan, Hans Zimmer, John Williams, and Djivan Gasparyan lead him to begin work on a beautiful progressive track entitled “Tears of Armenia”, now signed to Solarstone’s Deep Blue Label. The song features the haunting sounds of the Duduk, an ancient Armenian instrument, and laments the sorrow and struggle of the Armenian people for the wounds created during the Genocide of 1915, in which 1.5 million Armenians perished at the hands of the Ottoman Turks. He now uses the artist names “Amurai” and “Manvel Ter-Pogosyan” to consistently release uplifting Trance and euphoric Progressive music while creating a unique name for himself in the dance genre.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp The future holds great surprises for this young producer. Currently residing in University of California - Santa Barbara, Manvel spends most of his time studying Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations as well as Spanish culture and language, all while finding time for music production. He continues to improve and impress us with his ever growing talent. Keep your ears open for the new sounds of Manvel Ter-Pogosyan, aka. Amurai.
