Evolution - The monkey, the man, then the gun.

About Me

I once heard that, "If Libra was a pool, there would be no deep-end." I think that's how it went anyway... so, either I'm shallow or infinitely deep? I wonder if there's a diving board.
What about me do you want to know? Ask me, and I'll tell. I only hide the darkest of secrets unless they're yours, then they're safe with me. The people I surround myself are from many different walks of life; I'm fond of variety and get bored easily. People who are tactless, rude, narrow-minded, or are otherwise socially abrasive, I have little patience for. Philosophizing and over-analyzing are my best friends, and worst enemies. I've been told I think too much, and I'm still trying to figure out why it bothers me. Decisions are difficult for me; what to eat for lunch could take 20 minutes, and who to get close to can take years. I'm a good friend, rarely late, and I hold to my word (but only when I choose to give it out). Diplomacy tends to come naturally to me, but usually at the cost of staying emotionally uninvolved. Unjust and unfair actions tend to send deeply negative ripples throughout my very core. My tendancy is to say what I mean and mean what I say, but I find most people either don't understand such simplicity or their faith in other people has been severely fractured. Everything that is who I am, I believe I have the power to change; my reality is flexible. I tend to sleep-in late whenever possible because I'm fascinated by my dreams. I have some very strange dreams. What else do you want to know?
Photography is one of my favorite hobbies. It's amazing what you can find within one confined space, and macro photography especially reminds me of treasure-hunting. Take a peek at my online portfolio .

"Your distinct personality, The Benevolent Ruler might be found in most of the thriving kingdoms of the time. You are the idealistic social dreamer. Your overriding goal is to solve the people problems of your world. You are a social reformer who wants everyone to be happy in a world that you can visualize. You are exceptionally perceptive about the woes and needs of humankind. You often have the understanding and skill to readily conceive and implement the solutions to your perceptions. On the positive side, you are creatively persuasive, charismatic and ideologically concerned. On the negative side, you may be unrealistically sentimental, scattered and impulsive, as well as deviously manipulative."

I'd like to meet:

People who can show me things I've never seen, spawn ideas that I've never thought of, and hold an interesting conversation. People who are accepting of, if not admire, those who persue their own interests regardless of whether or not they themselves are interested. People who aren't overly critical, judgemental, or severely self-limiting. People who are random, witty, and creative. People who aren't your run-of-the-mill weekend warriors with no other drive in life other than making money and fitting in. People who aren't 'whatever' people; "What kinds of music do you like? Whatever. What movies are you into? Whatever. How are you feeling? Fine." I'd like to meet people who enjoy enjoying themselves, and persue every little thing that makes them feel alive.

Music:

Electronic ('techno', Portishead, Massive Attack, Hooverphonic, Recoil), industrial (NIN, Sister Machine Gun, KMFDM, Combichrist, FLA), rock (Pink Floyd, The Doors, Tool, Perfect Circle, Alice In Chains), other (blues, bluegrass, zydeco)

Movies:

Television:

Not a big TV fan really. Never been one for brainwashing, and I don't enjoy volunteering my time to product-pushers (a.k.a. advertisements). In fact, I find it pretty bizarre that someone would invest $3,000 for a huge HDTV and $90 a month for premium cable channels, only to enjoy hours of advertisement in extra-high definition! Strange world. If you want news, hit-up OPB or Google News and think for yourself. If you want entertainment, go rent a good bizarre movie or hang out with friends. Watching people get hurt for laughs, or lusting after other people's fictitious idealistic lives, strikes me as a tad bizarre.

Books:

Authors (Terence McKenna, Carlos Castenada, Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Paulo Coelho), subjects (consciousness, dreams, fantasy, American culture, religion, politics)
