I am 58 years old and live in Olympia WA. I have a passionate interest in both mycology(study of mushrooms) and horticulture and make my living pursuing those interests. I have numerous occupations and am mostly self employed. Much of what I do allows me to spend a great deal of time out in nature. In the spring I have a real job... working at a large nursery specializing in edible landscape plants..it gives me a chance to interact with people. something I don't do much in my more solitary pursuits.
I spend a lot of time at my computer these days but this is the first time I have ventured into anything like this. It seems to be working really well... I've met a of really great people here. It's kind of cool to be involved in a global network.
I am politically far left, I have a healthy "fear and loathing" of the christian right and the Bush administration.
