TRAVEL; NEXT UP:
Key West for St. Pat's (3/2006 - was pretty good, nice hotel (Eden House), but *way* too many spring breakers on Duval, used to be better, def would not do again that time of year. Finnegan's Wake kicks ass for St. Pat's though!) Mazlatlan, Mexico for Dia de los Muertos. *had to cancel - must do next year... (10-11/2006)
14 (3&11) night southern Caribbean cruise on the Empress of the Seas (2/07 - 3/07) with 8 (so far) of my dearest friends who will be helping me lick my deep wound of turning 30 - yeah, you can cruise and still be antithetic to the system - disagree? We'll toss you overboard, they rarely find the bodies mfer. Just nod and smile.
I have to get the f*ck out of here for that day, and a bit after - I don't need one one of those depressing 30th birthday parties people put together to make them feel better about another joining the ranks of miserable "adulthood".
People say "You can't run away from your problems" - I most certainly disagree. Running away with a bunch of friends to a few tropical isles sounds like the perfect solution ;)
Anyone who can give me a heads up on what to do/see/avoid on any of these isles, *please* do: SJ/PR, St. Maarten, Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados, Curaco, Margarita Isle Venezuela, St. Kitts, Aruba - I've been to a few of them but could really use some advice from locals or people who visit often, since we are all Americans and don't want to do the "tourist" thing.Beirut, Lebanon (fall 2007) I've wanted to see the Middle East since I was a little girl, so sieze the day! It looks great there - very friendly people, fascinating culture, amazing history, great food, plus a friend and his family are being kind enough to let me stay with them for my visit :)
My favorite cities (so far): In no particular order, Portland Oregon, New Orleans, Toronto, Buffalo, Philipsburg St. Maarten (honorable mention: Cleveland & Miami)_________________________
KNITTING: For the pleasure, sweetly hand spun yarn sliding through the fingers, never for Chirstmas gifts, but a great hobby for those gifted with OCD!
SKYDIVING: Because I apparently enjoy scaring the sh*t out of myself, im a noob, but looooove it!
GOOD RUM: Who made the rule that wine is the only thing to be a snooty bitch about(AKA connoisseur/sommelier)? My fave at is Sint Maarten Spiced Guavaberry, but Myers is my fave thats easily available in the states.
I'd like to meet:
Someone who looks exaclty like me. The say eveyone has a twin in the world - I want to meet her.

Music:
I like what I like, and punk is like porn, I don't know how to tell you what is "punk", but I know what I like when I see it. I also enjoy circa 1985 Madonna :) Would Sid and Fat Mike really see eye to eye?NIN too.I adore KMFDM, System Of A Down, Ministry, Rage Against The Machine, PIG, Jack White, Beastie Boys (especially Paul Revere), NOFX, Slayer, Bad Religion, Fugazi, Operation Ivy, Pennywise, AIC, Violent Femmes, and misc 1980's pop stuff (like Bananarama). Like anything else, nobody can list, or even think, when put on the spot, of all their loves, and the same goes here. Wouldn't want to bore you with it anyway.

Movies:
LOVE LOVE LOVE MOVIES! And "films"! I get sucked in by the biggest blockbusters, and the most absurd 1960's French BW's eqaully as well... Like Punk and Porn, I know the good stuff when I see it.
Just thinking about Tarantino or Burton gets me all excited in a naughty schoolgirl with a past kinda way.
Harold Lloyd films are my good times flicks when I'm feeling down (especially "Speedy" c. 1928). I'm also really looking forward to Peter Jackson's upcoming flick "Halo" (yeah, as in the game) - I expect it to be an absolutley brilliant, stunning film, considering the source material, and he's an outstanding director. I'm all sorts of excited! (Halo is now targeted to be released in Summer 2007) BTW, the only game *I* play is Star Wars Battlefront on PS2, and you should fear my geeky self should you encounter me on it ;) - if i hear you on the headset actually questioning if im really a girl because of my hardcore annihilation, I'll shoot you dead, teamate or not.

Television:
I LOVE Survivor, Amazing Race, Project Runway, Lost, CSI, ANTM, Family Guy, Futurama (I love Fry), Iron Chef, Desperate Housewives, Rome, Carnivale, Big Love, and not afraid to admit it.
Fuch off all of you people who claim to love The West Wing, get over it, it sucked from day one, go drink a well over-priced bottle of wine that you don't even really like, and sleep with that wife/husband who hates you. Maybe you anti-reality show (yeah - there are some horrible ones, but damn, get off your high horse) people can get away with blowing your Mercedes salesman for the next car payment once Bush makes the economy go back to 1929.
Gimme a Twilight Zone marathon, and I'm in pure heaven. Kisses to you Mr. Serling.
Books:
Too many faves to list!
Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy (Complete Edition) by Douglas Adams is my all time love though - the movie was absolutley dreadful, so very untrue to the book, an absolute tragedy - BELGIUM! And they didn't even tell you that the answer was 42.
RECENT READS:Recently (3/06), rapidly, finished both Angels & Demons and The DaVinci Code,(both Dan Brown),and HONESTLY have to say that A&D was MUCH better - I felt let down with DaVinci Code after it.
The Testament (John Grisham), which looks at page 219 now to be VERY good (6/12/06: now have finished it, Testament is good, worth a summer read, but nothing spectacular - Angels & Demons STILL my fave read in the last 6 months...)
7/15/06 - CATHERINE THE GREAT (biography) Love it a lot, such a fascinating, strong, intellegent, and beautiful woman. Was always curious from what I had heard about her as a child, and now she's an idol to me!
10/06 - Now reading LAUGHABLE LOVES by Milan Kundera, loving it very much - its a series of essays by a Franco-Czech novelist that are so funny and truly brilliant! Highly recommended.
Have read almost EVERY Stephen King book, and even stalked his house in Bangor!
Heroes:
My role models are my Mom (love/hate), Wonder Woman, Sacagawea, Phoolan Devi,
Gloria Steinem, every "Suffragette", and all the women worldwide before me who paid with their blood, sweat, and tears, so that women like me could continue on, and make 76 cents on the dollar compared to men in 2006.Also, the 12 brave souls that were my ancestors that came here on the Mayflower and Anne to escape forced religion, and then later, my ancestor Rev. Stephen Paddock, an "engineer" on the underground raliroad into Canada. I thank you.
Long live the TRUE America! Burn in hell all of those who are now defiling her!CAN ONE PERSON REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
YES.
