Byron
The voice is smooth and honeyed, thick and soulful; the sound is signature, an effortless fusing of timeless 70s soul with current R&B sensibilities. There seems to be a current cache, even a stigma when it comes to neo-soul artists. However, where most current neo-soul singers sound tired and unoriginal, artist Lyric is authentic and real. Simply put, Byron is pure soul.
Lyric, a native of Houston Texas, began honing his musical talent in the Pentecostal churches of the South. There, he learned the piano by ear and began singing at age 7. The passion for music was apparent, as he continued onwards, on the way to college in fact to study music. He attained his B.A. in theatre arts at the Prairie View A&M University, where his work for the music department showcased his amazing talent for directing, writing and arranging music.
Always with an eye to move on to bigger things, Lyric recently made the move to New York City. Perfecting and refining his musical gifts and craft, he is beginning his work to cultivate himself as a successful solo-artist. Talented and passion, when broken down to the essentials, there is something so raw and candid about Lyric and his voice, one thing many of his contemporaries do not possess: Soul.
