YOU CAN'T POLISH A TURD.

About Me

I am from Detroit. After failed attempts to play the trumpet in middle school, I began playing bass at 17. My first intrument was a $44 Hondo from a pawnshop. I cut my musical teeth jamming in living/bedrooms in Florida. My first "real" (when I say "real" that means scheduled practices, tours, etc.) band was called 'BOB', an Atlanta trio that I joined just weeks after moving there, and quit in 1996. Since moving to New Orleans in '97 I have had the honor of playing in 'The Robblers' with some Juan's co-workers (a FINE punk-rock band, and the last I ever toured with), 'Poop du Jour', and 'Hagus' simultaneously which shared members; both now defunct due to said members departures to California. 'Poop' mutated into 'The Media Darlings', even though there was already a local band by that name. With no solid foundation I became a musical mercenary, playing for a project known as 'the Far East Sensations' culminating with a yearly all-star ensemble for the annual Turducken Halloween Masked Band Balls (it was bass for the Doors that year), and the one gig I look forward to every year. Other performances have included playing bass for Devo, Brian Eno, drums for a solo Syd Barrett, the MC5 where I debuted as a singer, and most recently the White Stripes (drums)and Judas Priest (voice). Hagus may yet rise again - in the interim I have bothered to learn how to play the drums, and do so for a nihilist improv-punk blues 2 piece called 'Pierre Rajon', as well as occasionally producing semi guitar-like frequencies with a guitar. I also record as the 'the cheese' in my solo project, 'shitegeist'.

My Interests

Finding people to play my whimsical brand of adult contemporary non-denominational totalitarian new-age ear-splitting folk. Destroying 'Chocolate City' one bite at a time.

I'd like to meet:

God, so I could ask him "What the FUCK, dude?!"

Music:

Classical gas to bricks in a garbage can - If it's dynamic, energetic or played with any feeling at all I like it. But slow jams suck my balls. If it makes a noise, it's an intrument, and I WILL find some way to play it till it hertz.

Movies:

A Clockwork Orange, and Star Wars. The 2 movies I have seen more than any others by a factor of at least 20 to 1. This is why I'm such a mess. Next question?

Television:

Heroes, South Park, Adult Swim, Wonder Showzen, Maximum Exposure, The History and Discovery Channels, The Food Network. Back in the day, I would watch the doppler radar on the Weather Channel for hours, but they don't do that any more, like MTV doesn't show videos. How sad.

Books:

So I've re-discovered my literacy since Katrina (not having electricity for over a month will do that for ya). I've read 'Black Monk Time', 2 Anthony Burgess books (M/F and The Doctor is Sick), re-read the entire 'Lord of the Rings', 'Tales of a Punk Rock Nothing', a collection of Leonardo Da Vinci's notes and scribbles, and Dune. I tried to read 'Beyond Good and Evil', but it gave me a headache. I have been writing a journal, now 33 pages long.

Heroes:

The underdog, the little guy, anybody that puts a whoopin' on somebody that REALLY deserves it or overcomes hardships to become a better person. When the chips are down, my heroes are the people that can rise above the bullshit and still make it happen. My heroes are just doing their job. My Hero is my penis.
