The founding members of the tribe are Penfold and DLB, who together co-run their Total Recall imprint. Between them they have over 20 years experience in undergorund dance music scenes. In this time they've been involved in music production, DJ'ing and event promotion through which they've worked alongside some of the key players in Drum and Bass, Techno, Breaks and Rave scenes.
After originally meeting on the London Squat techno scene in the mid nineties while playing for the infamous Kinetec sound system. They realised a shared love for the unique innovative vibe of early rave music . This combines with their love of acid techno and most strains of modern dance genres resulting in the unique vibe that is the basis of "the Tribe".
The Total Recall project was started as, and remains first and foremost a community to encourage and develop producers and offer a platform to release material. This is to push forward both the fledgeling scene we've helped to create, our artists and any creative talent that we may come across. Essentially all are members of the Tribe. To date we've put out 5 releases on Vinyl and are up to number 4 for digital only release
To enable flexibility and best fulfill our role as a non-profit collective we run predominantly digital labels ( BUY OUR STUFF HERE ). We aim to promote music we believe in regardless of genre and encourage our artists to move out of their comfort zones in order to keep things fresh.
