i took all of the concert photos on this page, including the background and everything on the slide show. feel free to use any my photos on my flickr , as long as you give proper credit. the slide show below links to my flickr and are all photos from the my indigo favorites collection. they were taken around the world at various shows.
ok, aside from the obvious (INDIGO GIRLS and AMY RAY), you know, the usual. super secret missions, and world domination. oh, and i enjoy doing anything in my power to bring down george w. bush. i honestly believe that he's not only the worst president in us history, but the biggest fuckwad as well. when i'm not occupied with the above, i quite enjoy 420, sabre (inside joke, though i do have to work with sabre at work), soccer/football (NOT american football!), drinking, watersports (i mean things like SCUBA and tubing. PERVS!!!), LIVE MUSIC, STARBUCKS (soy chai latte no water), WORLD CUP SOCCER (if japan could only win...), writing, activism, eating disorder support/recovery, TRAVELING, wine, women, PILATES, running, working out in general, PHOTOGRAPHY, going to the bar to get my drink on, BIKING, travel writing, chilling with my cats, photography, and going to see amy ray and/or the indigo girls (yes, i realize that falls into the "live music" catagory, but IG/AR are in a class by themselves...)
..
(i took that footage of my favorite song at mohegan sun casino in uncasville, ct (24 july 06). you can hear me singing!)
I'd like to meet:
i'm not going to add your shitty band if i've never heard your music. it's just not my nature to shamelessly promote anyone. i = picky.
i'm not going to add your shitty band if i think your music sucks. again, i = picky.
and if you're a band or a musician, i am not going to automatically add you if you claim you "sound like" amy ray or the indigo girls. same goes for "influenced by." aren't we all?
i'm not here to hook up with you. ok?
i probably won't add you if i don't know you or at least know of you. again, i don't see the point of having nine million myspace "friends."
Music:
The main ones:
Indigo Girls
(Amy Ray + Emily Saliers = indescribable!)
Amy Ray
(Her solo stuff! Amy's a rockstar in her own right too! I really love her with her band, the Volunteers!)
The others:THREE5HUMAN, Girlyman, Nineteen Forty-Five, Brandi Carlile, The Coup, Catherine Feeny, Snow Machine, Family Outing (I heart AL and Jody), Shawn Mullins, Three Finger Cowboy, Michelle Malone, Danielle Howle, Molly Bancroft, Brandi Carlile, Team Dresch, Azure Ray, The Shins, the Mota Litas, the New Mongrels, Group Sex, (old) U2, Lift, Mary Chapin Carpenter, The Weepies, the Great Unknowns, the Ackleys, Mary J. Blige, Athens Boys Choir (aka the ONLY spoken word I enjoy), the Clash, the Shins, Death Cab for Cutie, the Butchies, the Fray, Justin Timberlake (shutthefuckup peanut gallery), the Crafties, the Pixies, Cat Power, Missy Elliott, Tori Amos, the Ellen James Society, oh and of course myself (since i am SO talented!)
oh, and i've recently re-discovered my love for rap and hip hop music (yes, it's true): TOO $HORT, E-40, Traxamillion, Chamillionaire, Akon, COMMON, Talib Kweli, Jurassic 5, Kelis, DFB, Tupac (R.I.P...), Lupe Fiasco, Rick Ross, Chingy, 50 Cent, Ludacris, Yung Joc, Lil Jon, The Pack, and stuff like that.
i should probably also include what i DON'T LIKE as assumptions are often made. i can not stand melissa etheridge. i just can't. oh, and for the record, i think i'd be suicidal at the michigan womyn's music festival. not digging the cris williamson-esq music.
just for fun:
You Should Be In the Indigo Girls
Your all about expressing yourself through music
Lyrics are your poetry - think Sylvia Plath meets guitar What Girl Group Should You Be In?
Movies:

Television:
six feet under has always been and will always be my favorite.aside from SFU: project runway, top chef, almost anything else on bravo, america's next top model, the amazing race, lonely planet on the travel channel, cnn, bbc, charlie rose, queer as folk, weeds, and soccer (especially in spanish). i miss the world cup... :(
japan's beautiful goal on brazil in the 2006 world cup:
..
Books:
harry potter. and how about authors? william ferguson, tania abei, virginia woolf, john krakauer, inga muscio, jenni schaefer, and all of the fine authors of lonely planet books - y'all help me find my way around the world.
and genres? in general, i really prefer non-fiction. nothing sucks me in like a good travel narrative. i also love to read travel guides in my spare time (occupational hazard, i guess). i tend to like to read books that fall into the "gender studies," and "ethnic studies" catagories. i am also constantly reading books about eating disorder support and recovery. really, i'll try anything as long as it expands my mind.
Heroes:
MY MOM... seriously. i call her st. barbara or st. MoS (mother of spike)
AMY RAY... she's such a strong activist. she inspires me to do more. and of course she's an amazing musician who really speaks to me.
Winona LaDuke... i've never seen someone so passionate about the environment and the welfare of people in general.
anyone who devotes their life to working for social justice and human rights.
