Evolving in the harsh sunshine and furious storms of Central Florida, Attila and the Huns are quickly conquering the musical landscape with their daring fusion of traditional and contemporary rock styles.
After the breakup of cover band "Legacy 6" in 2003, brothers Kevin (Lead Guitar) and Andrew (Drums) decided to put together their own group. After a few less than successful lineups, the duo finally realized that the rest of their band was literally right under their noses, in the form of their younger brothers Matt (Bass Guitar/Trombone) and Philip (Guitar/Trumpet). "We took the name Attila and the Huns," recalls Kevin, "because we wanted something powerful and historical". The four brothers played their first gig together in November, 2003.
After a short time playing covers, all four members began to write original songs, and each added their own specific influences to the band's sound. This sound has been compared to popular bands such as Green Day, Blink 182, Reel Big Fish and Less then Jake. A typical Attila and the Huns show cuts across traditional genre boundaries, ranging from driving punk to horn-driven "ska", constantly building in energy and excitement.
The band has played at over fifty venues in Florida and the eastern US, and released their first full-length CD in April, 2006. The band is currently recording new tracks for their next release, which is planned for December. "We are constantly fine-tuning and experimenting with the sound," explained Andrew. "There's going to be some surprises on this new CD. We can't wait to share them with our fans."
AATH has played with many bands over the years, from Florida staples like 69 Fingers, One Night Stan, Go Play In Traffic, Finding Mulder, Lyenex, The Know How, DC North, 3 inch Fizz and Murdock's Revenge, to national acts such as Big D and The Kids Table, Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer, It's Revenge, River City High, Westbound Train, Code Adam, The Delegates and Fo A Cha to name a few!
All the band members love to hear from their fans, so please feel free to contact whomever you want at their individual myspace accounts listed to the left. For more information, please contact the band's manager, Jeff O'Donnell, at [email protected] or (407) 923-2393.
