Ejay and Ron Chism started a rap duo known as the Southern Superstarz in 1996, then going by the names Illegal Kane and Killa Kryme. In1997, they got their first chance on the college radio station, 91.9, on the campus of Georgia Southern University, in Statesboro, Ga. The exposure of the radio prompteded them to start another group called,"Dem Niggaz". The group included kaptain komeup, PAB, and Playboi BJ, whom they still work with today. After a few years of being the life of the party, they ran into a producer named Rico Real. A year after that, they met Ty Durden who was a dj at 91.9 . They hit it off so well that they immediately began recording together, and sometimes Ejay would help Ty host the radio show(wvgs 91.9).
Well on their way to becoming the next big thing in the south, disaster struck in 2001, when kaptain k and Ron Chism were arrested on a bunch of bogus charges along with most of the other members of the group. Following this, Ejay moved to Macon to clear his mind. While in Macon he ran into Rico Real and became an integral part of Realest Records. There, he featured on the first Realest Records release"Dont be Scared". It was Rico's solo album, but Ejay put a solo song called "The VIP" on the album to show traces of what was about to come.
Ejay went on to release a street album called Dirtyfinganailz in2002
on the streets of Macon. The album featured a song with Nyghtbreed,
some gangsta rappers from Macon that started the phrase Mac-town.
Then in 2003 Ejay and Rico Real made a duo album called "Thurabread-
Anything goes". It made a big buzz on the streets and the people were
anticipating what was next. So Ejay made a mix tape called Servin it str8.
