ELECTROFOLK

About Me

AVAILABLE NOW !
The edge of the future, the traditions of the past. Can these exist in a sublime middle ground? Yes, they can. Albin Wagener’s self-described electrofolk is the answer to that question. Delivering a stunning fusion of musical concepts that combine organic robustness and heartfelt ideas with the brainslicing music of tomorrow, Wagener is an artist blazing a swath of daring creativity through the indie music realm.
Truly Moving
High demands. That’s Wagener. His standards are strict and that’s the promise of great music for his listeners. He expects quality for his listening pleasure and requires it from his own songwriting process. “Music should truly move me and reflect my thought about how I’m feeling, the things I’m longing for and the personal stuff I’ve been going through.” Those are the parameters of creativity established by Wagener. He also realizes the potency of escapism – one of music’s prime reasons for existing. Pure entertainment. “It’s about escaping in a different world as well,” Wagener says.
The Parts All Working Together
Wagener also expects equality among the key elements of music. Poor lyrics should not ride the coattails of masterful grooves nor should smart words attempt to distract from weak melodies. “Music and lyrics should fit together as a whole and generate new emotions and thoughts.” Songwriting, in other words, should present a solid phalanx to the listener, music with no chinks in the armor. And that’s exactly what Wagener does.
The Artist at Work
Touring is revving up, with play dates spreading across Europe in the fall. His writing process is a part of his daily life and he just finished the recording of 17 songs. The “Smell of Winter” EP is slated for a fall release and will also boast a video of the title song. Wagener is currently working with A&R Select, the leading indie A&R firm in Hollywood, CA.
