At 20 years old Kane Towny is establishing himself as a young exciting DJ on the Leeds music scene. He got into DJing at the young age of 11 and has been playing out for the last 3 years. He started his first night when he was just 13 at his Mums bar O.T.T in Ossett (near Wakefield).
When Towny first started playing he loved Funky House and Retro, which then developed into Basslines and Speed Garage. He also plays Funky and Electro House music under a different DJ name.
His first proper gig was at Heaven & Hell nightclub in Leeds back in the summer of 2004. He first started doing warm-up sets and back2back sets with Alex Simmons (DJ Simmo). After learning the trade and also mastering how to mix RnB and Garage music, Towny was given Saturday nights at Heaven & Hell. He stayed here for a couple of years up until its closure in 2006.
During his first year of playing out on the club scene Towny also gained other sets and residencies at different venues and nights. His first bassline residency was with the infamous House Party night at Atrium, and also Saturdays at Atrium. House Party was very successful and gave Towny the enthusiasm to do bigger things.
Around this time, Towny also started playing for Funkylicious which was then based at Warehouse and also Hanky Panky which first launched at Nortern Light. Hanky Panky was a huge success and really made its mark on the Bassline scene.
In the summer of 2005 Towny spent 3 months on the Greek island of Kos where he was a resident at the islands only superclub - Starlight. This gave Kane bags of experience and opened up his learning on different music styles and tastes.
When returning from Kos, Towny got straight back on the Leeds scene and picked up all his previous residencies and also gained more guest sets. He now plays for the top funky bassline house nights in Yorkshire and also promotes various nights in Leeds, Wakefield and Sheffield.
