VAMPYRE was formed in 1986 as a musical release for founding members Randy Lawson and Bill PUSWART Plummer. The band quickly gained quite a following in their hometown of Anderson, Indiana. They played many shows in the area and people flocked to see the outrageous antics and hear the Sam Kinison like rantings of frontman Bill. The band recorded a 4 song ep they called "Beware Of The Dark" and it quickly sold out. The band performed at the Battle Of The Bands in their hometown and are now known as the band that killed the contest. The legend is that because the crowd was so worked up and the rantings and lyrics were so "R" rated that the sponsors decided to no longer put on the event in Anderson. The band continued to play live at every chance and write songs that got better as they went. The second recording was a live opus called "Live In A Pool Of Blood" and almost manages to catch the rawness that is VAMPYRE. The third recording called "Blood Thirsty" is the final recording to date. There has been a renewed interest in the band thanks to tireless efforts of Bill and the many fans over the years.
