On a Hill Above the World

About Me

Come in, come in. There are comfortable seats all around. We'll have hot chocolate and talk by the fire, about anything and everything. Even an ephemeral spark of interest is worth kindling; who knows what we may ignite?
Let's chase tangents and tangle threads. Let's juggle topics and topple judgements. Let's pontificate on silly trifles and chatter winsomely about the momentarily momentous.
There's fun in everything, is there not?
Heheh, okay, enough of that. Seriously now, I can't say it any more plainly than this: what matters to me more than anything else is to have fun, and to try to make sure those around me are having fun too.
As you may be able to divine from my interests, I'm one part romantic, one part intellectual & about fifteen parts simple-minded child. With a dash of utter geek.

My Interests

Perhaps it's childish, but I can be endlessly fascinated by just about anything. I am especially passionate about:
Gadgets and toys, philosophy, drumming, writing, SED and OLED TVs, HD DVD or Blu-Ray? Eating biscuits, anime, Capoeira, particle physics and quantum theory, computers, Chinese and Japanese culture, pie, good sound systems and the music I can play on them, sushi, dim sum, theology, silly and/or clever humour, acting, the theatre, racial equality and the difficulties of understanding white privilege, aestheticism, the cinema, heelying , poetry, steaks and cakes (not at the same time), mythology, good dancing, whisky and whiskey (especially single malt whisky, my favourite being Caol Ila), not having any taste whatsoever in tea or coffee, sci-fi, fantasy, wearing goggles on my forehead and eternal youth.
Oh, and I find owls very cute indeed; I had three strigine soft toys as a child: Owly, Mad Owly and Owly Supreme.
And most of all, of course, I am interested in having fun.

I'd like to meet:
