Music:
alternative rock is my first love but i listen to everything. its raw, honest and unadulterated.lately ive been into the more artificial sounds of alt rock like new wave, triphop stuff. i like the bravery, the kaiser chefs, the killers, the scissor sisters, itchyworms, the ever immortal ERASERHEADS, prodigy, chem bros, among others. i also listen to a lil bit of hiphop. none of that gangbanger shit though, sorry. you see, i think hiphop is more than just guns and drugs, its a lifestyle. you dont need to have bling just to be hiphop. i like hiphop when its fast and rhythmic. great for getting a girl to grind on ya! i tell ya, dorp a jayz joint and itll do wonders for your party. even an old school track will get your party thumpin. i like jayz, kanye west, missy eliott, 50 cent, dame dash, p.diddy, salt and pepper, jjfad among other. club musics good too. when i go to party here in manila, they dont play hiphop, they play trance house music. i tell ya, when you roll on 24''s and have a dance track on your soundsystem, you rock manila,period.
Movies:
my choice of movies vary from comedies to bloody action flicks. but mind you, i am VERY selective when i watch movies. i am naturally a write, first and foremost so one of the first things i look at is how the movie tells a story. i like movies done by quentin tarantino, robert rodriguez, bret ratner, jerry bruckheimer, steven speilberg, george clooney, peter jackson and the guy who direced memento and batman begins- i forgot his name. i am a geek at heart, i loove movies that have to do with surreal themes, dragons, saving the world, vampires, that sort of stuff. but i like movies that have something to say too.(CRASH, SIDEWAYS, WIMBLEDON, etc.)
Television:
TV is my life. every other hobby that i do just pales in comaparisson. except writing of course, writing is more of a conviction for me. a first love. the first thing i ever learned how to do was use the TV's remote. 50% of the things i know came from the TV. i watch everything. form jerry springer reruns to cartoons. but what tickles my fancy are shows that have edge, like ghost whisperer, CSI, supernatural, arrested development, and some reality shows that have nothing to do with love and $1,000,000.
Books:
i just mostly read graphic novels(aka comics to you people) now. before, i use to read books, more on the lines of children's fiction. but know, i read books with life lessons like ones written like paolo coehlio's 11 minutes, like water for chocolate, the memory of running and einstein's dream. with regards to graphic novels, i read the sandman books by neil gaiman and frank miller's sin city. david honteveros is this new filipino writer i'm in2. hewrites supernatural stuff and puts it in a most mundane manner. bob ong is another really funny writer who finds humor in pinoy sarcasm.
Heroes:
james dean. elvis pressley. james bond. king kong for being so bad ass aftr all these years. the musical genius that is kanye west. dave navarro for making carmen electra fall in love with him. david blaine. erik mana. marc abaya. david copperfeild. tito ortiz. kevin randleman. the game Tripple H.
