About Me

The Webster Film and Video Society (WFVS) is a student-based organization that focuses on the production aspects of film and video. We are working to build a network of aspiring film/videomakers here at the University as well as throughout the community. We invite people of all areas of interest to be part of the society.
2007 STUDENT FILM FESTIVAL WAS A HUGE BLOW OUT! On May 5th, 2007 we hosted our second annual Webster Student Film Festival in conjunction with Women in the Media and the Webster Film Series. The festival showcased the talent of Webster's students and a series of awards commended excellence. A panel of professional judges viewed each film and coined awards for directing, writing, cinematography, art direction, and more. The audience also voted on its favorite films, and a film was given an award for having the most votes.
The winning film, Cody Stokes' "The Loneliest Place on Earth" will screen in the St. Louis Filmmaker's Showcase, as well as audience choice award winning film "The Gospel of Luke Matthews" by Ryan Doris and Sharif Musaji
. The Showcase is going on July 21-26. Please check their website http://www.cinemastlouis.org/showcase.cfm for scheduling.
Next year's festival is going to be bigger and better--keep your eyes peeled for more info.
For questions email [email protected], or visit our website www.webster.edu/wfvs for submission and additional info on awards and programming from the evening.
