About Me

I'm a 53 year old guy, that loves to work. It doesn't matter if it is to pay the bills or just to please me or others. I enjoy working. In my world, everybody gets a fair shake. I don't care who you might be. No preconceived notions here.I drink whiskey straight and chase it with beer.Hey Check Out http://canaanvalleyvfd.orgAnd Support Your Local Fire Dept and EMS!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Thomas Sowell, George Will, Margaret Thatcher, Condi Rice and yes, President George W. Bush.
Create Your Own!

Music:

Country mostly. However, most of what passes for country music these days bores me to tears. Punch it up, throw in some tight harmonies and fold in some intelligent lyrics. You'll have my attention.I enjoy good rollicking cajun, bluegrass and '70's funk. Tower Of Power is the best band EVER!

Movies:

The Big Easy, Chinatown, Storyville, Johnny Handsome, Tombstone, Lonesome Dove (a mini series, but as good as it gets), Open Range, Casablanca, The English Patient, Manhunter, Apocalypse Now, The Princess Bride, Educating Rita, Phenomenon, Pulp Fiction.....TBC

Television:

Deadwood, The Shield, Jeopardy, Get Wild with Cindy Garrison (OMG! The perfect woman!)

Books:

The Princess Bride, Pop. 435, The Perfect Storm, Of Young Men and Fire, Smoke Jumpers, any of McMurtry's Lonesome Dove Trilogy, Bruce Catton's Civil war Trilogy, The Killer Angels, Of Gods and Generals, any of John Sandford's 'Prey' series, Clive Cussler's 'Dirk Pitt' series and all of Tom Clancy's stuff.

Heroes:

My mother and father, sister and brother. Anyone who honorably wears the uniform of the United States Military. Firefighters and police officers who discharge their duties, again, with honor, on our behalf. Citizens in their own communities who stand firm against human predators. Rosa Parks. Jackie Robinson. Chappy James. My firefighters, FF/EMT's and FF/Paramedics!Musical heroes: Radney Foster, Bill Kirchen, Danny Gatton, BJ Thomas, Stephen Christianson, Angela Huffman, Holly Garber, Randy Paul Roberts, Ricky Lee Roberts, Toni Brooke
