My Interests

I like playing guitar with a good mate of mine, not quite a band but there is a glimmer of talent there. We can belt out a fine tune but we could do with a good singer. Anyone out there?? I also love the movies (see below, but horror, kung-fu, Foreign, you name it!), going out round the town. I like a beer and a few Jack Daniels but not the pain they bring the next day. I love football, both watching and playing. (that's soccer to any americans reading this) I really like animals. WAIT!! NOT LIKE THAT!!! I got a tank full of fish that forms a pretty good soap opera, trust me on that one. I have a degree where I studied the conservation of endangered species, so I guess that makes me environmentally friendly. I like using the PC, hence why I'm here. Video games are a nice diversion, but not an obsession. Also a budding movie maker and my next project is in the pipeline as we speak.....

I'd like to meet:

Cool people (well, who doesn't?) who have their own opinions on life and don't follow the crowd. Open minded, liberated folk who have slipped from the mould and face the world with a smile. Similar interests would be good, but not essential. Foxy ladies are a definite bonus! Hahaha!

Music:

quite diverse. Used to be a grunge kid (mudhoney, pearl jam, nirvana), then went through the indie phase (stone roses, screaming trees, charlatans), then rock (Therapy, smashing pumpkins, metallica, green day), now open to all avenues, but I dispair with all these *oh-so-talented* boybands and other formulaic trash that is being churned off the conveyor belt. I respect bands that can write their own stuff and maintain consistancy - Arcade Fire are a good example. Fingers crossed Goldie Looking Chain can keep it going.

Movies:

I confess to being a bit of a movie geek, but who can help it if I like the good stuff? Hmmm.... ok, all the Evil Dead movies (especially 2), Fight Club, House of Flying Daggers, Bubba Hotepp, the Usual Suspects, both Spiderman movies, you can't go wrong with a bit of Bond (just don't mention Timothy Dalton though...), Bruce Lee flicks, Iron Monkey, Braindead, reservoir dogs, Lost in Translation, The Godfather (1 + 2), On the Waterfront, Blue Juice, Empire Strikes Back, Se7en, Undead, Spirited Away, Life is Beautiful, pirates of the carribean, A very long engagement, the magnificent 7, Goodfellas, anything by Dave Fincher (closely followed by Sam Raimi), and much much much more...

Television:

Channel hopping rules but I dont watch as much as i used to. Let me see, whats good.... Takeshi's Castle, Phoenix Nights, anything by Davis Attenborough. I like the Simpsons when it's a new episode or one I've not seen in ages but I swear if I see who shot Mr Burns one more time....... Stick an old movie on and I'm hooked

Books:

Anything by Michael Marshall Smith, especially Spares

Heroes:

Bruce Campbell, Spiderman, Elvis, James Bond, Gerald Durrell, David Attenborough, Dave Fincher, Carl 'the King' Kennedy from Neighbours

My Blog

Doctor Dan

Christ, my hands have just stopped shaking as I've just had to perform surgery on one of my beloved fishies. Yeah, fair enough fish may be seen as sad, boring pets, but my tank is a pretty fine soap o...
