Hi there! My name is Lisa Weir, I am 28 years old and born and bred in Dunedin, New Zealand.I started training at 15 joining a local Les Mills. I was impressed by many of the members competing at the time, including Les Mills personal trainers Mish McCormack, Helen Gittus and Holly Mills. From there my desire to build muscle was born.I competed twice in 2000 in Figure enjoying the experience but realising I needed to get some heavy training under my belt to achieve my goals. A change in gyms part way through the year gave me the opportunity to learn a lot more about training as a body builder and adopting it as a lifestyle instead of a hobby. In 2001 I was elected onto the NZFBB Committee and was the Event Organiser for the Dunedin Classic for 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005. Running the Dunedin Classic was a huge task considering the absence there had been in a local competition for some time. It proved to be a very rewarding experience and a special thank you to Jean Scott for mentoring me through this time. I was also privileged to be a Team Manager for the New Zealand Team traveling to Australasian's for 2003, 2004 and 2005. Although I enjoyed running events and increasing awareness of competing I was looking for a new challenge. In 2005 I was approached by Cell Biology to undertake distribution for New Zealand. Only just securing New Zealand distribution for Phil Kabakoff Tanning Products I saw this as a fantastic opportunity to be able to sell top quality supplements and tanning products at a more affordable price in an industry I love. The result: Musculo was born.I hope this year to make a well overdue return to the stage, as they say "watch this space!" .........
