Charlie Hunnam
Travis Fimmel
FAVE BOY TOY...lol
(Drake Bell)
I will probably add much more to this later. But the main thing to know for now is that I LOVE London (would love to live there) , Wales (Cymru am byth), Oscar Wilde (passionate but oh so reckless and tragic), Rich Mullins (my spiritual hero), my son (the 2nd most beautiful creation that ever walked the earth), Jesus Christ (the 1st most beautiful creation that ever walked the earth), travel (though I only travel to the UK cuz that's all I can afford, and it contains London and Wales anyway, lol), Joseph Fiennes (actor's actor, and 3rd most beautiful creation that ever walked the earth, lol), and music (listening, not singing or playing cuz I have no talent for either, lol).

"Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born."
~ Anais Nin
I value honesty more than anything else. I don't even care if you are a jerk wad (lol), so long as you can be honest with both of us about who you are, and who you aren't. That goes for friends or potential romantic partners. To be honest, the kind of people I prefer to be around at the moment are those who are living out their passions. Or who, like me, seek encouragement and inspiration because they don't want to settle for the mundane. I am at a point in life where I know I need to pursue the passions and gifts God has given me, so it would behoove me to spend time with those I can look to and be inspired. It doesn't matter if your passion is music, or asparagus, lol. All that matters is you recognized it, and were willing to sacrifice whatever it took to live your dream. I think most of us are too lazy, or too afraid (in my case, its probably both, lol).
I also adore people who are "walking contradictions", like myself. That doesn't mean hypocrites, or people that lie about who they are. Just people that appear to be one thing, but when you dig down deeper, you find qualities that seem to contradict eachother, but don't. Like passion and restraint. Or quiet, and bold. Or dorky, and cool, lol.
My aim in making friends (or more) is to spend my time with people who intrigue or inspire me (and if you need to know what intrigues or inspires me, read everything I just wrote above).
Its important to me that you be someone who learns from their mistakes and experiences, rather than banging your head up against the same walls over and over. I have little tolerance for people with a victim mentality, that prefer to whine about their lives and situations, rather than change things in themselves that they have control over. Accountability is a big issue with me. But so is grace. True kindness is a gift of immeasurable worth, and makes you as good as gold in my eyes.
One last important thing. Who I would NOT like to meet......men (or women) looking for cyber sex or shallow thrills to fill up their empty minds and hearts. Hint- if your friends list is made up of wannabe titty dancers/porn stars/cyber skanks, and that's how you choose to represent yourself, you are so not someone I would waste time on. Nor should you waste your time (and friend requests) on me. I enjoy "beauty" as much as anyone else. But if sleazy women are what floats your boat, and you're proud to show it, its unlikely you and I would be able to carry on a conversation, lol (and if I think that's what you are about, its also unlikely I will bother replying to your messages)
Enjoy the slide show....And if you're the impatient sort, here's what you missed, in the order you missed it, lol....me....me and my son...friends...my various trips to the UK.....

"I believe that education is all about being excited about something. Seeing passion and enthusiasm helps push an educational message.......Yeah, I'm a thrill seeker, but crikey, education's the most important thing."

Everything
Massive Attack
Baroque/Classical (Bach is the Bomb), Christian Alternative (Jars of Clay, Lifehouse, Switchfoot, Kutless, Pillar, POD to name a few), 80's Alternative, some current Alternative (Coldplay, Keane, Goo Goo Dolls, Train, Lenny Kravitz, Pink, will try to think of some others so I don't seem outdated, lol), 70's Classic Rock (The Guess Who, and Hendrix is THE man!!!!!), Hair Bands (thanks to Jon Bon Jovi and company for making rock and roll pretty again, lol), Grunge (who was it that decided grunge wasn't cool????) Old School Punk Funk (Rick James, Shannon, Gap Band, George Clinton, etc), Trance (DJ Tiesto and Chicane, good stuff). Recently discovered Massive Attack (thanks Andy Blue, lol). My tastes in music are eclectic, so there is little I don't like. Music is one of my main passions, and I am partial to musicians (just a hint, lol). Love to talk music, so bring it on. ; )
Anything with Joseph Fiennes, Marc Warren, Gary Oldman, Robert De Niro, young Marlon Brando and Bette Davis. My current fave movies are ELIZABETH and GREEN STREET HOOLIGANS. But I adore the old "Golden Age of Hollywood" movies. That was back when you didn't have to worry about gratuitous sex, foul language or graphic violence. The innocence was charming and with much more substance, than the crap we get today. Bah, lol!

OOOOH...British Comedy. Little Britain, The Office, Monty Python and Benny Hill (oldies but goodies). I also love History Documentaries, and Forensic shows (non-fiction of course). Truthfully, I only get to watch on weekends, but you can usually find me watching one of the above. Or Soup (on E-Tv) and Best Week Ever (on Vh1). I forgot to mention The Simpsons (best thing on television) and Frasier. OH, and last season I became kind of obssessed with Nip/Tuck, lol. Fantastic show!!!
(I guess we Americans can sometimes get it right, lol).
I've gotten a little snobby these days, lol. I prefer Classical Literature. My fave author being Oscar Wilde (if you are an Oscar Fan, I so would love to hear from you!!!!!!!). But I also love The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series and anything fiction or non-fiction by CS Lewis. Dr Phil is a good read as well. ; )
Jesus Christ, Abraham Lincoln, George W Bush, Rich Mullins, Bill Gates, my maternal Grandmother, my wee son, and the men and women in the armed services who lay down their lives, so you and I can lay down our heads each night and sleep in peace, freedom and safety.
Your alarm goes off, you hit the snooze and sleep for another 10 minutes.
He stays up for days on end.
-----
You take a warm shower to help you wake up.
He goes days or weeks without running water.
-- --
You complain of a "headache", and call in sick.
He gets shot at, as others are hit, and keeps moving forward.
-- --
You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go
meet up with your friends.
He still fights for your right to wear that shirt.
-- --
You make sure your cell phone is in your pocket.
He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.
-- --
You talk trash on your "buddies" that aren't with you.
He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.
-- --
You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.
He walks the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.
-- --
You complain about how hot it is.
He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe
his brow.
-- --
You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your
order wrong.
He does not get to eat today.
-- --
Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes.
He wears the same things for months, but makes sure his weapons are clean.
-- --
You go to the mall and get your hair redone.
He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.
-- --
You are angry because your class ran 5 minutes over.
He is told he will be held an extra 2 months.
-- --
You call your girlfriend and set a date for that night.
He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.
-- --
You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday.
He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.
-- --
You roll your eyes as a baby cries.
He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if
they'll ever meet.
-- --
You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything.
He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own government
and remembers why he is fighting.
-- --
You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of the men like him.
He hears the gun fire and bombs.
-- --
You see only what the media wants you to see.
He sees the bodies lying around him.
-- --
You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't.
He does what he is told.
-- --
You stay at home and watch TV.
He takes whatever time he is given to call and write home, sleep, and eat.
-- --
You crawl into your bed, with down pillows, and try to get comfortable.
He crawls under a tank for shade and a 5 minute nap, only to be awaken by
gun fire.
-- --
You sit there and judge him, saying the world is a worse place because of men like him.
If only there were more men like him.
