My Interests

Jazz dance (any kind of dance, really), my -and anybody else's- dogs, wicked sense of humour, vintage clothes and late 50's/60's/70's furniture and memorabilia, vintage erotic magazines, browsing through piles of shit stuff in warehouses and second hand markets, loads of things really...oh, and sweating buckets in the gym trying to keep myself fit now i'm over thirty :)

I'd like to meet:

Nice blokes and pretty gals!

Music:

Soul and funk of all kinds, jazz (soul jazz, vocal jazz and funk jazz, some be bop as well, i hate free jazz), bossa and Tropicalia, boogaloo and latin jazz, groovy soundtracks and library music (some weird proto-electronic stuff as well), reggae/ska, old skool and early 90's hip hop (De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest, etc...), some new stuff too (Common, Jurassic Five, Dilated Peoples...), plus good UK Garage as The Streets, soulful house. I'm also into Madness, Specials, Dexy's Midnight Runners, Jam/Paul Weller/Style Council, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Tindersticks, The Smiths, Nick Drake, David Bowie, Joy Division/New Order and Uk punk rock, some 60's beat too.

Movies:

WHITHNAIL AND I, most of SCORSESE, COPPOLA and AL PACINO stuff (I hate SCARFACE though), SPIKE LEE, all the early WOODY ALLEN movies...the list is endless. According my musical and aesthetical influences i guess i should like famous 60's movies like "THE PARTY" or "BARBARELLA", blaxploitation and so on...well, i don't. I like Michael Caine, though. Also, I must say i absolutely hate Japanese/Chinese/Korean movies (sooooooo slooooow...) and i'm not a big fan of Lars Von Trier, i guess that makes me an absolute moron regarding modern cinema...I can live with that. Oh, and i love a Spanish movie named "EL MILAGRO DE P.TINTO", wich is the daftest movie ever, period

Television:

THE SOPRANOS fan nº 1! PRISON BREAK isn't bad either...

Books:

Anything from TRUMAN CAPOTE, ALBERT CAMUS, BORIS VIAN, TENNESSEE WILLIAMS, JOHN FANTE, COLIN MACINESS, IRVINE WELSH, TOM SHARPE, KURT VONNEGUT, EDUARDO MENDOZA and loads of post WW II American writers, all the "depressive" Russian writters too (Chejov, Dostoievsky, etc...). On the other hand, i really like music and urban culture based books from such people as PAOLO HEWITT, NIK COHN, NELSON GEORGE or PETER YORK.

Heroes:

No more heroes!
